We had a great July in Maine. McGrath Pond.

Ah you're a jerk for posting those pics. I'm homesick :(

I used to eat at the Governors in Waterville all the time. I lived not far from there!

Here are a few from last weekend while we were hanging out on Quaddick Lake in CT.

Here's a few pictures from our 9 days aboard....

We took a trip to St Joe Michigan and had calm seas the entire trip over....

Image

Here's the lake ten miles offshore, when we stopped for lunch.

Image

What goes up, must come down. Finding these in the middle of the lake always makes for a fun, impromptu man over board drill!

Image

We came back a day early in 3'-5'ers. Didn't even slow us down....just ran right through at our normal 28mph cruise. My 18 month old slept the whole trip back, while the older son just read his book. Here's the power plant at Michigan City, IN, off in the distance, just over ten miles out.

Image

And here's why we came back a day early. The winds to the north, 30-35 knots and a few gale force. 7-10 foot waves at the southern end of the lake...makes for a good drive to the beach!

I've been busy working, boating and everything in between, but haven't take too many pictures.

This past weekend we went up to the Soo for a night. Had a good time.

We added this 1972 Chris Craft Commander 31 Sedan to the fleet this spring.

This was our first night on board back at the beginning of June in Cheboygan

Nice!! I've considered picking up an old Wellcraft. I can get something that size for like 10g's. Would make a great summer vacation "cottage"

Planned to do some work on my trailer on Saturday, but the weather was just too nice to be on shore.
Ran up to Harbor Springs MI for lunch. Almost forgot how beautiful this town is.

We were on the Bay this weekend.

Stopped at Power Island for the afternoon.

Motored over to Sutton's Bay for dinner and beverages at Boone's

Image

Perfect weather, and the water was as clear as it could be, and temp was perfect for swimming.

Image

We will be back to TC in two weeks for some more boating .

Beautiful pics Cap'n and Jeff!! I cant wait to get back up to Michigan again! We want to make a trip to Charlevoix and spend some time on GTB next year. I dont know how many more good weeks of boating are left up there still this year......when I was there, there was one day that the temp only got to 64 for a high! Thats too cold for August LOL. Torch water was only in the low 70's when I was there. Is that normal for this time of year?
