I think you want to add a signature pic, not an avatar. The avatar appears in the left column under author...the sig pic appears at the bottom of your message.

Matter of semantics. Go read Chapmans. Everything is procedural. Call it what you want, but it's still the best, and safest, way to anchor a boat.
