Hi fellow boaters,

Looking for ideas to reduce the dampness/humidity/mold in my Vista 258.

I trailer my boat so really looking for what to do when covered in my driveway. I live in Minnesota where it gets quite humid during the summer. Do I want a dehumidifier? Other ideas? Brands that work well? etc...

I would greatly appreciate any ideas.

Thanks - Ken

If high humidity was a problem you would want a dehumidifier not a humidifier. One of the best things you can do for a boat is buy the right cover. I have an OEM Sunbrella cockpit cover and a semi/custom fit Carver mooring cover for my 248. Both of these covers breathe and let air flow through them. My boat has been sitting outside all winter with just the mooring cover on (I keep the snow off it so it doesn't tear) and my boat is bone dry inside and smells as fresh as the day it was made.

Airflow....
