Highway robbery and Volvo themselves is somewhat culpable here. I can change an impeller in a Cobra for less than 40 bucks and usually the housing is good all I replace is the impeller itself and the housing gasket. Every other change I will replace the stainless wear plate. 15 min job. Wish OMC was still in business, I'd buy another in a heartbeat.

After several days of fever (yuck!), I pulled my pump and was happy to note that my bearing and shaft seem to be OK, so I'm replacing the seal and leaving it at that for now. Won't know how it works for a while due to no boat time for a couple more weeks
