One of the rear tires? Do you have a tandem axle jet-ski trailer?

The driver's side rear tire had a hole in the sidewall that was patched! I'll keep it as a spare, it works but not something I want to use all the time.

Old pic, notice lights not working.

Oh my lord.
We do not yet have any kids, but I can not fathom how difficult that would have been.

All that's left to do is change the plugs in the ski, and I'm all set to play this weekend. Ski Saturday, Boat Sunday.

Ah crap, just remembered the boat needs gas. The Marina has a no gas can policy but I can tell them to park it out in the lot instead of behind the gate at night. I'll swing by and put at least 10-15 gallons in tonight. No way I'm paying 5.25 a gallon when it's 3.17 right now at WaWa

I would seriously look into the Lowrance HDS Gen 2 units. Insanely fast chartplotters. Can view the screen wirelessly on a smartphone or tablet anywhere on the boat. You can use nearly any 3rd party maps including Navionics which I think are the best.

Yes I can do that as well with my standard horizon as well as plot routes on the ipad and transfer them to the plotter. I have the CPN700i which is touch screen as well as a full set of buttons to use which it a little easier while underway in the choppy conditions

i also have space requirements as the slant of my windshield limits the size i can mount on the dash top.. and i do not want to buy new 4 in one gauges just to flush mount in the center of my dash..

the HDS units are nice and i like the features but i do not need or was the down imaging or sonar which is couple hundred dollars of technology that i will not ever use on this boat.. i have just begun the deep comparisons and price hunting for a unit.. hoping that i can find a thanksgiving or xmas sale or fall sale and install it in the spring before next season. My fall winter will be consumed with a new baby and redoing all of the rear bench, and hatch. along with a complete new interior of the boat..

You can buy the HDS Gen 2 units without the transducers

Just put new plugs in the ski, no more hesitation on idle. Can't wait to go out Saturday!

space is also a big issue at hand.. as the angle of the windshield eats up a lot of my usable area..

so i printed a to scale front he manufactures drawings print on the plotter at the office and spray mounted it to some card board making a scale size 3D model of the Standard horizon and it fits much better than the Lowrance unit. Leaving me the ability to have a few degrees of swivel and tilt where the Lowrance seems to be crammed in.. i will make a scale size of the HDS 5 today and try it out but i was very happy with the viewing and mounting location for this unit..

Ok here is my update after talking with the Standard horizon Technical department . NO their base maps do not have the inland charts that i need for the lakes by me.. BOO yes i know.. so i talked with the C-Map people which is the chip that can expand the SH units. and they do not cover the lakes either.. SO i back up and punt.. well i look again at the Lowrance 5hdi gen 2 that is $500 and i still an not impressed wight he bas maps and would have to add $150 Navionics maps making it close to 700 investment after shipping and taxes.. so i punt again so that i am not pushed back into the end zone.. well i started thinking more about my new 4.7 iPhone that will arrive next week and well it is a great deal larger than the 5 that i have now and may prove to be a good size.. so i figure first i will try the new phone as i already have purchased the upgraded Navionics maps and have a few hundred way points and a few routes and love the maps.. simply holding the phone is too much of a PITA while driving and sipping a drink.. So i started looking back at mounts and well the RAM Mount is simply the best that i can find for vibration hold and adjustability. So i will order a RAM Mount suction with X mount and give that a try..

I was talking with a friend that is an avid amateur aviator that owns 2 prop plains. He was telling me about his 10" iPad navigation that he has. Well he uses the DUAL gps receiver that feeds the iPad the signal.. So i am instantly wide eyed you have my full attention. So after reading about them and liking what i have found. I think i will further investigate the GPS receiver along with a waterproof case and mount for the mini that i have and this potentially could be a 7" touch screen Navionics chart plotter for the boat. The only down side is the sun glare when i fairly ride with the bimini down. I am fair skinned freckled guy so i have the bimini up 99.99999999999999% of the time while driving and in the boat..

OK so that is the new chart plotter news for me.. potential iPad mini setup and or iphon6 with Dual or the Garmin Glow.. depending on finding between the 2 receivers.

Have a great weekend not he water folks.. i plan to be not he lake this weekend with my beautiful pregnant wife and a few of our friends

If you use garmin, all their "paid" maps are free

Easy/cheap/best route?

Ipad with Navionics HD and a Garmin Glo GPS receiver and a RAM mount.

The Garmin Glo updates 10 times a second. 99.999% of all smart devices? 1 time a second. Makes for much more accurate readings at cruising speeds.

If you have a built in GPS in your IPAD, then it should work fine in a boat. Us airplane guys have to use a separate receiver placed up by the windshield because the metal roof blocks too much signal.

I already have a 4 month old retina iPad mini in my hand. Just ordered the life proof case. This is happening.
