boat at mechanic, sitting by the phone waiting for him to call.... it's been a long day so far with no news. :(

Still waiting for my boat to come home... it is now in pieces at the mechanics and will hopefully be ready for the weekend as we plan to get out on the water...... Finger crossed.... although from the noises he is making it sounds expensive.....

I hope it's nothing more than a fuel pump & a few hours of labor! :?

Well. I guess spending 3k at the city's best dentist for some cosmetic white dental fillings on my front teeth paid off this week. Girls are practically lining up outside my house. Who knew it would make that much of a difference.

Composite resin, I guess it's a type of veneer. He's known to be some sort of artist with it. Grind down, reshape, and fill in teeth so they're perfect. You can't even tell the work was done your teeth look perfect. I'm 32yo and I have some money saved I figured it was time to not be afraid to smile. Literally the next freaking day girls are telling me I'm really pretty and i hooked up with this amazingly hot 23yo hooter's girl. I'm actually quite shocked on how much of a difference it's making in my life and it's only been 3 days.

Sometime you catch a break...did an overnight fishing trip with a buddy then picked up the wife and kids for a day at the beach last weekend took her out of the water and pulled the plug...about 5 gallons of water poured out! I have never seen this much come out..I did however notice the the plug sleve moved when I unscrewed the plug, I tightened down the three set screws, but they wouldn't get snug so we took them out this weekend to see what the problem might be...turns out all 3 of them were broken off about 1 thread in! Probably been that way since I bought her 3 years ago, there was a lot of sealant surrounding it. Lucky for me shortly after I bought the boat I saw this in a bargain bin and thought "good idea to have an extra plug." (and a great price)

Image

You see the original one had a dimple in it so it was only going in one way. with this one we were able to offset where the broken screws were and put new screws in.

I think she will hold water again...now to wait the 7 days for the 5200 to set-up...

7 days til you can use the product applied with 5200? You mean 7 minutes for your application due to the tolerances being so tight. Water doesn't hamper it's cure time. In fact, 5200 would never cure if it wasn't for water. I'd maybe wait a day if the gap was like 1/8th inch or if it was subject to hydrodynamic forces (a bottom thru hull) in fear it might get washed away.

When I installed my A/C pickup thru hull we used 5200 and let it cure for about.... 4 hours til it got in the water. A year later no leaks.

I'd also be looking into why your bilge pump didn't kick on.

Looking at the pic of your plug/bottom of drive, it looks pretty rough around the bottom of the transom plate. Maybe water is getting in there too?. I'd fill the bilge with water while on the trailer and see if any water seeps out in that area. Also a good way to test the bilge pump.

You're right niagara, that's next on the list...I don't think the auto bilge float is working.. But maybe it wasn't enough water to trigger it. I saw the wet line in the bilge when I opened it and it may have been just under. But I'll fill her next week after the 5200 cures because my tube says allow 7 days to cure.

The transom plate was leaking last summer, the dirt you see is just dirt sticking to the sealant. I am fairly sure it's watertight..but we'll see when I put water in the bilge.

One tip, either jack your trailer tongue waaay up to keep the water towards the back of the bilge/stern area, or plug the hole in the bulkhead that is directly in front of the engine. This will prevent water from going fore into the fuel tank compartment. Since the hole is about half inch higher than bottom of compartment, it is a bassturd to get all the water out of there.

looking at the horrible storm outside, hiding from the tornado warnings, hoping that we do not float away in the 3-5" of rain today and the flash flood warnings for my area.. I tied the boat to the house just incase.

Thinking how i will get ZERO work done on the boat today with all this rain.. But the rest of the week is Clear.. Also UPS the glass is not he truck out for delivery.. as long as things continue as planned we are on track to have glass work done before the baby is born at the end of november..
