yea I know your right but that's not in the budget. I was looking for a 5 year fix not a 20 year one, after the shop dug around they said it was much better than most they see, just as he put it ...' four winns water rot from the design of the covers' and how they let water in. I could have tiptoed around this for a few more years I suspect. To me its a compromise between a half ass plywood over the top fix that we all see and having a new glassed floor with snap in carpets.

So how are they actually going to fix it?

He said they're gonna pull up carpet and all wood on the floor, replace the cross members then recover and carpet. Marine grade plywood etc etc. To be honest I am not too worried about the particulars , I know this sets off alarm bells for many DIY'rs on the forum and that's ok, I have a comfort level and a price point with this boat that so far has served me well. If it sank tomorrow I would still feel good about my purchase. I know for a fact (If I were on this forum earlier) I would have been talked out of this boat 3 years ago when I picked it up, only knowing that it floated, had an engine and was a Four Winns....I got very lucky... I have learned a lot and had a lot of fun, and most importantly learned what I want and don't want on my next used boat. This fix will help it look a little better, keep any jumping kids from putting a foot through the floor, and allow me to spend my winter shoveling snow, camping with my kids and going to work which I do a whole lot better than interior work on boats. If I can make a deal on a trailer it will come with me to Lake George next summer otherwise it will teach the kids how to get up on one ski next season...assuming I can reinstall the drive correctly :)

I really do appreciate the comments and learn a lot from this forum and others like it....don't judge me too hard for going cheap on the interior rehab....

OK you're doing a new deck and of course they have to 'glass that in. The only extra cost is to gelcoat it instead of putting the moisture holding rot causing carpet back. I bet it would not cost that much more and is a far better job.
Alternative plan would be to paint it in a non-slid deck paint. Anything is better than carpet, it pains me to think of putting that crap on a new deck done in marine plywood...

Looks good yours does not look all that bad. It's the frame around the gas tank mounts and the ski locker. New hatch for the tank and you re back in business.

yea they added some more plywood around the locker area and replaced everything around the gas tank. Probably could have made it a few more years :)

That you could have done yourself, maybe 2 days work. Now try to get them to get that crappy carpet glue off and make them gelcoat it for you so it lasts.
