We will have to just disagree on that one. You might call it caring, but trust me - the only caring in that household was caring how long it took her to pack HER stuff and get out, vs. my friend having to pack HIS stuff. Not to mention a whole messy fight over who would pay for it.

Put the boat on craigslist, if it doesn't sell by the end of Jan I'll list it with a broker.

They're fixing my lake, I'm thinking about coming back home and getting a 20-22ft pontoon for the summer. I miss boating at home, I miss my friends, I miss the girls. When I get bored with that I'll sell it for a 248 and go back to the river. I've seen some amazing pontoons locally.

I could buy this, keep it in my back yard, and pay my car off with what's left over. That would remove almost $700 a month off my bills that I could put towards savings for something in 2016. Even if I move off the lake and buy a house elsewhere, my buddy wouldn't mind keeping it tied in his backyard as long as I leave him the keys.

looks like it does 70mph.

But nope, top speed of 7 knots.

What is this world coming to? Next thing you know Ric will be shopping for a pontoon boat!

It looks pretty cool for a pond or small body of water. Wonder how it would handle wakes from other boats, etc. Ric, you should buy one of these and ditch the retirement boat idea. Nothing says life in the fast lane like a pontoon boat. "When the pontoon boat's a rockin'....." said no one ever! lol

Except for one like this.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j136TTyG_E8

hahahhahaaaaaa

Hydrofoils are a blast.. that one looks fun for a 5 year old. For what it is worth those TORQUETO electric motors are pretty cool little power houses. but for **** sake that turd is ugly as hell..

as for pontoons their is one in town with a wake tower upper deck that has a water slide and 200 Yam out board that has been catching my eye as a fun ship.. But I'm not about to talk to a salesman... that is just crazy talk

Yeah, I want to move back to my 400 acre lake this spring for 2015 and the thought of putting my Chap back in is not going to happen. Too much boat for the purpose of just anchoring in the middle of the lake with buddies. Selling my boat will pay off my car, and buy a 'toon, and get rid of almost $700 a month in expenses. Saving an extra $700 a month for a year will put my boat buying budget in the mid 30's (cash) for 2016 and allow me to get a really nice Vista. Maybe a late model 268 with a 8.1 like I've been dreaming about.

Either way, I have to sell my Chap in 2015. I paid 14,500 when they were worth 22 two years ago. Now it's down to around 18. I want no less than 18 so it's gotta go!

Yeah I did the craigslist thing for now. If no bites by January I'll go the broker route.

I just spoke to a friend of mine who trailered his boat to a boat show. Parked it in the lot next to the exit and had easily 50 people come take a look at it in a few hours. Sold it in three days. Just a thought.
