Very cool.

I was, in a roundabout way, to trying to figure out if you could somehow use it with Navionics products.

oh man yea. 100% Navionics capable. everything else is useless..

being that our lake is flooded river bed and mountains 60 years ago. we have a ton of bottom irregularity and NOT one freaking channel marker.. drives me insane coming from a regimented coastal upbringing my entire life. It has taken me 3 years of watching others and my depth sounder to learn the channels of a tiny portion of the lake.. As for the other 20 miles all i know is do not hit the blinking light at mile 16, that is a huge rock pile.. everything else unless i am following a friend is lucky guess.

My iPhone with Navionics has proven to be priceless the past 2 seasons. Simply put! the phone is too dame small. I now have a i6 which may be a manageable size. But who cares i have a iPad setup now so life is good to go. 7" touch screen all up in my face. I hope this allows me to relax more and explore more of the lake..

nothing major but a couple waterproof powered USB outlets arrived at lunch.. One will go in the port side glove box and the other will go next to my depth gauge and above the swithches.. this location is directly behind the chart plotter so it will be perfect to charge up the iPad if needed. or the Garin GLO GPS receiver, or my cell phone.. so this will be 4 usb charging locations plus the cig outlet. seems that everyone always needs their phone charged. Well now i have that issue resolved.

Keowee (the feeder to Hartwell) sometimes we go on Hartwell, but Keowee is controlled, cleaner, and nicer. Hartwell is a lot larger and in past years has been low cut to you Atlanta jerks taking the water. I am so glad that SC put a stop to that and Hartwell is finally back up to full pool after 3 years recovering from ATL sucking our water..

Hartwell landing is about 8 miles from my house for the closest landing and 20 min to the marina at i85 aka the big body aka south Hartwell.. it is about a 15-25 min cruise to get to i85 if i put in by my house.

And the Keowee landing is 3 miles from my house.

My dad lives in Fairplay right off 85. He is big in the Power Squadron. FYI not a single drop of Hartwell goes to Atlanta. It is part of the Savannah river. The corps of engineers has to release enough water to keep the port of Savannah deep enough for the ships. If there is not enough rain (as in the drought you have had for the last several years) the lake goes down. Not enough coming in and a mandatory amount going out. Keowee is more immune due to the Nuclear power plant. Water has to be kept at a certain level for cooling the plant so the corps keeps it up.

By the way, I do not consider my self a jerk.

4 years ago we opened sales to Atlanta for a nice dollar and it has taken 3 years to recover. It was trucked out. Sight by my own eyes.

OK so you are telling me that a lake with 87.5 square miles of surface area and a shore line the length of the sate of California, was drained down to it's lowest level ever (in 2008) because water was being trucked out of South Carolina to Atlanta? First off half of the lake is in Georgia to begin with (the state line runs down the middle of the lake) so why would they have to drive trucks to SC to get the water? Second, how many trucks would that take (Hundreds of millions)?? Third, the water in the lake does not belong to SC or GA so neither state has the power to "sell" water from Hartwell to anyone. My dad has lived on the lake for 25 years and is a member of the USPS http://www.usps.org/ and Lake Hartwell Association http://www.lakehartwellassociation.org/Home/tabid/36/Default.aspx and he has attended numerous Corps meetings to discuss lake levels and nothing like this was ever brought up. Nothing in the papers or online was ever mentioned about the lake being drained by water being trucked out.

It was simply the severe drought that occurred in the entire Southeast. Not enough inflow (from rain) and mandatory minimum outflow (power generation, keeping the port deep enough, etc) that caused the lake level to drop. Most of the lakes in GA were down at the same time as this was a regional drought. The same conditions exist out West right now. Lake Travis near Austin TX is at historic low levels...

Don't want to argue with you. I just commented on all of the nice work you are doing to your boat and mentioned my dad lived on Hartwell... I look forward to seeing what other cool things you do to you boat.

Why I don't complain about salt water. Tides change every 6 hrs with a high tide every 12 hrs but we never have water levels too low to boat. And it does not destroy boats contrary to what you hear. In fact there are very few new boats in my harbor most are at least 10 years old and many are pushing 25-30 years old. What destroys boats is manufacturers using cheap materials and owners not doing maintenance.

Ok so yesterday was more 2hours of thinking, looking, cleaning.

Today 1/11 - 4man hours of work after a trip to Get 2 more sheets of ply and talking with neighbor.

So today a lot was accomplished. The rear bulkhead was trimmed and better fitted. Then duplicated so it is 1.5" thick. The mid ship bulkhead the same was done. Finish fitment of the rear 4 feet of deck. Planned 1/8" off of the port seat base that was 1.5" thick so that it is now a perfect fit. Notched the stringer slot for the port seat base to fit into. And made the fuel tank hatch.

The fuel tank hatch is solid enough for me to stand on over the 27" span. But I will be making a 2x4 square set of joists that will bolt to the stringers and add floor support under the fuel tank hatch. This square stringer will be one square of wood that will be removable for servicing the fuel tank. And will have weather stripping between it and the hatch so that no noise happens.

Next step i will be fotting the half sections of pvc into the notched bulkheads so that no water contacts the wood grain.

Now. I have 90% decided on the new location of the rear speakers and mounting style. They will be moved from the stock location of under the rear bench seat. Horrible location. To the higher sode shelf and set on an angle in fiberglass enclosures. These enclosures will be located at the bench back rest. And angle at a 45* into the cockpit. I feel that this location will be better for audio and visually more apealing to me. While keeping the speakers in a safe location out of the way of guests.

Four Winns put some thought in to these boats, knowing you'd need cup holders in the fuel tank, during the long process of re-doing their floor.
