Here the most common obstacles are the trout lines and jug lines...not to mention the fishing lines real smart people throw out at the boat ramp area. I have had to remove prop and unspool fishing line on several occasions. That would be with any design, but it's easier to sit on my tool box, drink a beer and do it with the standard stern drive than i imagine it would be lying on my back dealing with the forward facing duals....

Don't really matter cuz i don't want one of those, which works out good since i can't afford one anyway. I currently use the portable ballast system and it works OK for bigger wakes while boarding. It's automated - just throw a cookie to the back and the big gals run to the rear of the boat. For luxury ride i hit the captains call exhaust and i can't hear what they are saying. Oh, the simple pleasures are always best.

Well, while the 'design' might not be for everyone...I think the intended functionality is perfect for me. I've been tempted to trade for a Malibu/Mastercraft/Tigé for 2 seasons now but if this new TS222 can work as advertised, I think I am 100% interested. We boat on the same lake all summer long and play in mostly the same bays so risk of damage is minimal. It's more about play than touring for us. Also, our local Four Winns Dealer has been excellent to deal with for any issues so if they can supply, that would be a great option. Just need to see what the pricing is going to be...

The crab-pot concerns and the like are certainly legitimate. I don't think that is the demographic Volvo is after. It is you (and I), the lake boater/water sport enthusiast who is considering the switch over to a v-drive that Volvo is going to sell these drives to. I have also been price shopping used v-drive wakeboard/wake surf boats but have concerns about comfort. Actually I have concerns about my wife's concerns about comfort. My kids are young and I am getting older--wake surfing would be a great activity on the lake. The Forward Drive is perfect for that. Not for everyone, but there is definitely a market out there for it.

I already have a regular IO...and I love my H200. It's great for tubing and wake boarding and general boating back and forth to our family cottage. I also love wake surfing behind my friend's Tigé RZR and think my family would really enjoy it. I will not wake surf behind an IO. The TS222 might be a good solution if it's not priced higher than a dedicated tow boat.

Well, it had potential to be...but I just got a price and it's outta my league unfortunately. The exchange rate isn't helping things I'm sure. It's a good thing I still enjoy the performance and looks of my H200 because we're going to spend some more time together after all...and I'm fine with that.

If someone gets one of these bad boys, I would love to see their comments on it.
