Well, after 7 hours of work in two days redoing everything that the previous owner totally screwed up, the ski is ready for testing. TTO Tach, Pump shoe in spec, new R&D gp800r intake in spec, ride plate set at a starting value per Duke, leo's pump wedge installed, stepped the sponsons, n00b squirter filled in and smoothed out in nozzle, front bucket removed for more air (will drill holes at a later date), and ride plate bolt thing in hull replaced. Only thing missing is that I'm not going to get my .030 sheet spacers in the mail this week for the trim tabs so that's going to affect mph a little.

Testing tomorrow evening after work! My best was just a hair under 66 mph before.. any guess what it's going to run now?

Ric, if you want speed, move back to Maine and get a hyper sled. Mine does 130 right out of the box. And, yes, that's MPH.

Yeah, but I hate the cold that's why I moved to Florida.

I'm no longer the owner of a Chaparral. Just sold it.

Hmm what's next??!!!

If I said i wasn't tempted to go out and buy a brand new H180 OB I'd be lying.

You'd never be able to sell that for more than you bought it for. And your 248 would just be that much further away.

Might as well just have the ski for the summer....

Or buy another cheap/older runabout for the summer and flip it to add to your 248 fund.

Yep people were going apeshit over a cuddy with A/C since the polish job.

Now that I have some sense in me, I'm just going to jet ski it this summer. I have enough friends with boats if I get the urge until I wait til winter to buy a 248 for cheap. Here in FL they average around 25k in the warm months and 19-20 in the cold months for a 2003-2005.

I might, might buy a floating jet ski dock for my lake if I can find one decently priced since the county took over the water management. It will be crystal clear come June/July.

Can you use shore station lifts on your lake?

planning out my evening to work on the boat. the temps look like i can do some glass a couple afternoon evenings this week. SO i am going to get the shop clean and the plastic down and all the glass cut and read for the bulkheads and the stringer caps. Got to start somewhere.

Might be easier to find a good deal on a used shore station.

In Florida? HA. Floating jet docks go used for $1000. Shorestations $1500.

What's really sad is I bought a floating jet ski dock 3 years ago for $100 and resold it. I knew that was a mistake and I should have kept it.

about ready to head to the store and get a brass drain tube and plug for the bench seat. Then head to the house and get some work done. going to try and 60 grit all of the glue off of the gunnels so that they are ready for fairing compound and lip glass a the deck meeting location..

Get the plastic down and saw horses set up for all of the bulkheads and parts to be glassed tomorrow.. a clean shop is a must. so the shop vac and dust collector will be running a lot tonight to get things good and clean..

Tomorrow will be a busy evening with he shop heater on to have it a nice 75* for a few hours into the night for a nice kick.

VERY excited to be able to start glassing and making more headway now that it is warm.

Think I'll take the ski out for a run with the new GPS to get a better baseline.
