I believe the national average width restriction is 8'6" wide? Looking on Kentuckys site, they state that 8'6" is your restriction on interstate and major highways, so, your actually, probably perfectly fine... ;) . I believe that most semi-trailers are 8'6" and trailers and vehicles that are over 80" such as my dually, and your trailer, and most trailers, are required to have that center line of marker lights in the back, center.. Think it's actually a requirement for anything 80" or wider..

When are you planning on picking it up? Still plan on using Sassy Marina?

Upstate NY to Detroit you say? Take I-81 north to Canada. Tell the border idiots you're taking "the shortcut". Have proof of ownership in hand. That's all they'll ask for regarding the boat. Have all your personal documents in hand as well. They will wave you through in no time. They have no clue about size restrictions. Trust me, I know.

Then take the 1000 Islands Parkway west to 401 west. Take the 401 all the way to the Ambassador Bridge. Home free!!!!

The cops up here have no clue about size restrictions either.

No permits needed.

Give-er.

made it home safely, no issues (minus trailer cover blowing a few straps), even across the Canadian border.

PICS of the new boat soon to come....
