What a great 5 days at my parents place on Edisto Island. Time spent on Botany Island beach was very relaxing.

I was a bit nervous leading up to this week at the beach as LITTLE MAN is only 5.5 months old. it took forever for us to find a suitable life jacket for him and the fact that i have heard horror stories about babies of boat addicts hating the jacket, wind, boat, sand.. THAT IS NOT THE CASE! He takes after his dad and all previous generations on my dads side. Absolutely loved every moment of it. This made me so relieved.

What a great 5 days, the weather was perfect to eat every meal on the porch. The row of 3 sets of sliding glass doors leading to the porch were open the entire time. the temps and breeze were perfect neutral temp.. IT did blow a gail in the bay the entire time.. it was a steady 15-20 at the beach.. but what ever.

Little man loved the boat rides each day, loved the beach, sand and water. We got to see and visit with a lot of family. And basically be on Island Time (no watches, no phones, no schedule)

this coleman tent worked amazing in the 15-20MPH winds at the beach.. $35 on amazon.. we put it to the test and it passed.

Wow, what an awesome piece of property.
They need a caretaker for the summer :-)

Looks like the family had a great time.

Thanks.. the property is a slice of heaven.. Now that my mom is retired they are out their about every other week for a week or so. Dad has retired a few times in the past 20 years. And has a successful Boat survey company which he can make whatever hours he wants so i do not see him stopping that for a long time. As he stays in high demand and simply put he enjoys it and does good. But they get a lot of use out of the property.

South Carolina. on an island called Edisto about 18 miles (as the crow flies) south of Charleston. It is a 45-1hr drive from the city. around 24 miles by water from the harbor surrounding the city to Botany Bay which is at Edisto Island.. It is considered the UNTOUCHED island. As it has not been developed like the closer islands because so much of the island is under land trust (cannot be developed) trusts preserving these old plantations. It feels like you go back in time to the 1800s when on the island. one grocery store. a couple small produce and fish shacks on the one main road and a gas station. the front beach has been developed but not heavily. As in it is houses only no mega hotels or resorts with put put and all that crap.. It is a relaxing beach..

The beach in the photos i posted are of BOTANY ISLAND which is at the tip of Edisto island at the mouth of the inlet to Botany Bay. My parents place is 5 miles thru the inlet and up the river to our dock.. It is a nice boat ride to a isolated beach that only has locals. The island has about 5 houses with seasonal residence that is water access only and golf cart transport on the island..

This is a very family and chill beach as in you will not find the huge party raft up with a DJ and 100s of drunk college kids leaving trash everywhere.

As for the property it is fairly un touched from its old cotton days.
