V338 GPS upgrade

After my transducer died last season, I intended to simply replace the transducer and keep my Raymarine C80 setup. One thing led to another and I upgraded my system to the Raymarine a97 MFD and color radar package during the spring sales at Defender and West Marine. The cut-out for the a97 was smaller than the C80 so I called FW parts to see if I could get a new uncut guage panel....but it is NLA. I had a local sign shop make a black, beveled panel to fit over the C80 cut out and allow for a fairly clean install of the new GPS. Overall, I am happy with the way the project turned out. Running the new xducer cable and radar cable was not difficult at all. I did look at the new GARMIN units but the GARMIN rep was offering no sales incentives so I decided to go with the Raymarine touch screen model. Some pictures of the install....

That really updates the look of the dash, very nice!

I put new Garmin electronics in our new boat.... 7600 series, radar, camera, transducer, etc. crazy awesome compared to older c series.

My situation was opposite, as I got a better deal on Garmin than I could have through raymarine!

Bottom line is the new stuff is light years better than old c or e series.

Looks great. Just can't believe the dash is already NLA...wtf fw.. Where did you source the black fasteners to match the factory ones? I'm doing a flush mount ipad mini mount on my chris craft. Those must be bronze or something other than steel to hold up.
