I just saw this thread. Glad you got it sorted.

My 2009 278 had 2 inline spade type 15A fuses in the charger output wiring; behind the battery switch panel. Why put them there ? I replaced them with circuit breakers, mounted in the engine compartment. Easier access, easier to check and reset if necessary

All those 15A fuses protected was the downstream wiring between the charger and batteries. The actual cables fitted in that circuit are capable of handling well in excess of 15A. Fuses blowing quicker than CBs in that situation are not an advantage surely ? The batteries are capable of accepting a much higher current without damage ( I think the alternator on my boat has something like a 130 amp maximum output). Fuses are of course a lot cheaper, even so I don't understand the logic of hiding them away so checking them involves some dismantling.
