I'm also not too sure about the swim platform on the front of the boat. Especially with the teak up there.

I do like the color combo though...

I'll be the dry towel!

I totally dig this boat... not more than my H240 -- but the lines are really growing on me... The teak package and accents are super cool... the Speakers are all hidden... 8.1 available... The 5.7GXi is probably borderline - you almost have to bring the big dog.

I think they nailed the rear speakers.. the seating pad.. cup holders... big platform... The front is new, but has a ton of room up there. I like the lines and colors... The dash needs to grow on me a bit more, but being able to pick your color and your wood is pretty dang cool.

This boat is targeted to be a Cobalt - butt - kicker. And I think it'll succeed in that. FYI - that boat is being sold for an ungodly price (low I mean)... I think it's high 50's/low 60's...

Things I don't like:
--no sink
--The cooler doesn't look right. I like how it's "in" the storage in my 240.
--I agree with Mike that the back sunpad is begging for breakage if used by a larger fellow.

Was someone calling me?

This stuff is all the work of what's-his-name - the guy who left Cobalt and went to FW. IMO he's not bringing the best of Cobalt and the best of FW together, he's just continuing to design Cobalts. I dunno. I LOVE the colors in the first pic posted - very sophisticated, very nice. They lose me in the interior.

His name was Steve Lumpy. You won't have to worry to much about his designs because he's dead of a heart attack last year.

The seating looks pretty good for multiple people, but that dash looks butt ugly.

Thanks Shawn, I didn't know that. Now I feel like I should like that boat. :(

I will second Cougar on the looks of the new 242....I think the boat looks very cool, and I like the large rear swim platform. I'm curious though...I've heard it has a head, but after looking at the pic's...it looks like it may be very...very small. And the rear sun pad does look like it may be a problem when extended with weight on it after a while. All and all, I like the looks. I'd like to see one here in the Seattle area to get a better, closer look...but I am definately into the looks of this boat so far.

I have a funny feeling this is one of those things that is very difficult to photograph well. Too many overlapping lines - too angular. If CC has the price point near actual it could be a very interesting option if you mostly ride with a crowd. I am going to reserve judgment untill I get to see it in person when mine is ready for delivery; I recognized the dealer in the photos. If it were me shopping at that level I am inclined to agree that I would probably grab a 240, they are the bomb. Just a little out of my league & my needs.

Again I have to chime in here! I have to agree with all those that like this boat. I prefer the 262 over the smaller one but they are based on the same design principal. We have been on one of these at the TO boat show and you really don't realize the comfort in the seating and the fact that the seats are more of a leather than vinyl feel. 230 Mike I believe called it "sophisticated" and I think he hit right on the head. This boat can be used by any age group and will impress. Imagine an executive in his nicely pressed shorts and shirt idling along with some clients or peers, A family out for a day on the water of doing whatever they might do and finally a 20 something (Ok maybe this is just an example I would have the exhaust open every chance I would get) with the exhaust open a line of the tower and the stereo blasting. It would do all this in a very "sophisticated" elegant manner.

I like:
-The colour bands available!
-8.1 with side exhaust
-seating style and material
--rear seat (when up), wide seats fro driver and passenger
-tower with hardtop
-rear facing seat
-glass transom pass through door
-the huge swim platform (eventhough I think it should NOT be included in the LOA)

I dislike (but could probably learn to like)
-The bow swim platform teak covering. I think it is too much.
-The rear seat when down.
-The front seating on the 242 seems to be a bit cramped

Unfortunately, we are making all these comments without actually being on or using the boat. I truly believe that we would all have different opinions (good and bad!) if we were able to spend a weekend playing with the boat. I thinkl this boat is good bang for your buck!

All the boat manufacturers are coming up with some kind of package similar to this so they can maximize the interior space on the same size hull.

It was a beautiful day so I went to marina to hang out at dock. There is still ice floating lake so I did not take a ride but now I have a bug to get back on the water soon.
I saw a SL 242 in the water and the picture does not speak for everything. I was not too crazy about is just looking at picture but it grows into my brain as I seeing on water. It defiantly has strong personality of lines some people might think too strong but I liked it. It is very cool and different. Space is roomy and comfortable. Qualities and details are very well so we are closing gap with Cobalt & Formulas?.. I personally would not go with teal wood look and stay with regular carpet and rubber mat. We should not say it looks like Cobalt but it will be look like Cobalt since Lumpie penned this project just as he did for many Cobalt including their 240SD. I would take this or 262 without hesitation if I were looking for a deck boat. I would not replace my H260 for SL…. At least for now.... However, as I get older and I am starting to appreciate qualities and details. Therefor I like to support Four Winn`s effort to introduce product such as SL. Without doubt this boat will make everyone around to turn their head when they see on water and start talking about it.

Thanks for the pic's!!! I for one am interested in this new look by FW. I love the room it appears to have. I'm curious about the head though.....I realize that most porta-potty compartments on boats this size aren't the most spacious in the world, but the SL242's looks smaller than most.

And I agree about the teak wood look.....I personnaly don't like it, it looks pretentious to me...I'd prefer the rubber mats myself. I have yet to see one up close. If I get a chance to though....I'd like to take one out for a spin....anyway, thanks again for the pic's!!

FlyingSuishi . . . . it looks like you've been to Winnisquam Marine. I think recognize the surroundings from thier website you lucky dog. I had no idea thier dock was so large - man do they have a ton of boats. No wonder they can move FWs at such a discount it looks to me like they are dealing in a massive volume; at least in comparison to the dealers in my area - FW and otherwise. Man, I can't wait to get down there.
NEway (b!tchslap for almost hijacking) that rig does look sooo much better sitting in the water nice work getting shots that do the lines justice. Very much like that blue when it is out in the sun. Looks like the teak(?) on the bow is real from the images - or is it the synthetic stuff? Bow area looks pretty plush also - the vinyl in grey is quite nice. Helm still reminds me of an 80's chrysler for some strange reason.
Sorry, almost forgot - thanks for the images.

I like the picklefork style front end. Resembles the x-star or x-45.
