Hey guys,
I have a trim tab gauge that reads down when the tab is fully up and thought I may as well replace it.
The MPH gauge also reads zero (I rely on the GPS for speedo).
My question is does anyone know what are the sizes and part numbers for the VDO stock gauges used by Fourwinns? I don't want to but the whole series just the trim and MPH gauges.
In addition, I thought since I am going to dismantle the dash and have access to all the backsides of the gauges I may as well change the bulbs to another colour, is this possible? has anyone here done anything like this?
Any reply would be much appreciated

Thanks
Collin

You might want to look at the trim sensor on the outdrive. It's on the pivot point on the right side of the outdrive. They are more likely to be bad than the gage.

Upload pictures of your gauges. I replaced all of mine and if you have ones I can no longer use, you can have them for the cost of shipping! They're white with gold bezels.

Very kind of you Taz, it's nice to see that everyone here is helping and looking out for each other, but I must decline your offer, mine are silver.
You are good in my books, If I can ever help you out, I will stand first in line.

Thanks to you too Surface Int. I will take a closer look at the sensor on the drive.

Proud to be a member and a Fourwinns owner.

Thanks guys

Collin

Also rarely is the speedo gauge the problem. It is usually the pickup or tube stopped up.
Not sure where it is on your boat and with it in the water it may not be easy to clean.
Take the hose loose from the gauge and blow air back thru the tube. See if you can see air bubbles coming from the transom or front of one of the out drives. Usually the pickup is on the leading edge of one of the drives and they get stopped up with trash or a piece of wood.

Good luck
