My 2000 H180 w/5.0Gi (250hp) came with a Stingray Hydrofoil when I bought it. The boat always went on plane really fast and there seemed to be no ill effects at speed. After swapping props, my top speed was 50-55 MPH according to GPS depending on load and lake conditions. Maybe it worked well on my boat because it was smaller and had power to spare? I think proper trim was more important with a hydrofoil.

I'm on the other side as I have been running a wt for many years altho I must have tried 3 different brands and styles and noticed that there is a big difference in how it handles from 1 style to the next. I'll have to check which brand I didn't like as I immediately repackaged it and stored it in garage...it acted just like some others had indicated in regards to pullin the boat down on turns. But the one I have now is perfect for us since we wakeboard alot. When I trim it a certain way it does put up a nice wake, even when we're lightly loaded. I also own a Malibu Echelon and the Horizon will still put up a bigger wake (unless the Malibu is weighted down). It brings the bow down quicker (than without)...I am just mounting a new fish finder so I can do some speed tests... oh, what we really love about the wt is that we use it as a step to get in the boat and rarely use ladder..
