My GFI plug on the right side of the stereo in the cabin pops every time I turn my outlet switch on. All the other plugs still work and I have replaced this plug twice in the last three years. I only replaced them because the GFI button stuck and would not release. Now it just pops. Thanks.

You may have to replace it again.
Mine by my pond has become almost as annual thing in a harsh environment.

I would think your other plugs would be protected in series by the GFI. Evidently not.

I'd say $7 and replace it. Check for loose wiring before you remove the old one.

Thing is I just had it replaced in March. It worked 3 weeks ago and now it pops. I was also wondering what else is connected to that GFI? On my buddy's 94 278v his is connected to his battery charger but my charger still works.

Take a meter and check for voltage at other plugs. Usually two or three in line

You have some loss somewhere.
A GFI looks at amperage going out and what returns.
If you loose .06 amps somewhere, it trips.
Check all the connections and try to trace what is on that GFI and what is plugged into it.

Do you have a fan or something like that, maybe the fridge in series? I have a fan and it will pop the gfi every time I change settings on the switch from low to high or whatever. Its a brand new elcheapo from home depot fan.

I have nothing plugged in and my fridge is turned off from the fridge itself. I may go ahead and take the plug out flip the switch and see if I have a lose wire or maybe a bad ground.

GFCI's don't need a ground. Like said above the current is measured in and out between the hot and neutral. Now if either of the two wires are hooked up wrong it won't work.

Sounds good I'll take a look at the wiring to see if it's correct. But is was working prior a few weeks back.
