Hi All,

I have looked through various threads here and can't seem to find a suitable answer/solution to my quandary.

On a 2006 H260, where would you suggest the better placement for the cockpit table?

from a position somewhere in front of the U seating coming from the floor? or a side mount table....mounted either at the rear (above the light) or mounted from either side?

I am not sure which solution would provide for best leg room, ease of use for occupants etc......

Cheers,
Roger

For the sake of people being able to move around, I recommend the floor mount.

It's even easier for people to move around with a side mount . No toe stubbers on the floor, and the
side mount leaves the floor clean and no holes made in the carpet.

Need one ?

I still have our's from our last boat, and no use for it.

For the very reasons you mentioned, the side mount is the option we'll probably go with if/when I actually do it. Think I would install a mount in the bow as well. I noticed most OEM are going with side mounts as well.

Is that the type that lifts out of it's mounting bracket? I could be interested. Please send me a PM with details.

Thanks for your replies..... I think I will probably go for side mount. Save the hole in the floor and potential trip/stub hazard.

If mounted such as the one in Cap'n's picture, I agree. I've seen tables side-mounted in boats with U-shaped seating (such as many FW's have), and the table was mounted to one side instead of the back. It pretty much caused one side of the seating area to be unusable. The one pictured is a great setup, with the table tight to the seats and not blocking the walk-through.

I will say, in 10 years no one has stubbed anything on our floor mount, but I agree it just seems "in the way" somehow.

Just thinking about it....my walkthrough is through the centre and therefore that set up would be exactly where my walk through is...... back to floor mount i think......

For those who have a floor mount: Is it OK to mount a flush mount base over the fuel tank?
(adequate clearance over the tank? is that panel stiff enough?)

Mine is over the fuel tank and seems to clear just fine. I assume it was installed at the factory. It seems to work well in that location from what I can tell. I've not had the boat on the water and spent the day with the table out. If the sunpad seats are folded out they sit right up against the table so it makes it hard to move between the deck and the lounge or swim platform area.

I have the same boat as Formulax, we haven't had any problems. We've used the table very little though.

I like the side mount if you can make it work. I've busted a toe nail or two on the floor mount in my boat. :x

dodger29,
I once looked at an H260 and they had the table side mounted on the rear starboard seat. Didn't seem to be in the way for the center walk-thru and not being in the center it left the port side relatively open.
Below is a pic of the mount, but unfortunately not with the table installed.

This does seem to be the best position for a side mounted table....... thanks for the suggestion...

I will post pics once I decide on the best solution for us....

Here is a photo of our floor mount table in a 230/240.
