Boat fires right up ( especially cold), but sometimes doesnt do anything at all.

After plenty of fear, blank stairs by the other riders and luck she will finally crank over.

When she doesnt want to start nothing happens from the key, no crank or click.

I am sure I am not the only one here. Does anyone have a write up? Heard it was the slave solenoid.

Craig

Don't know if this helps, but my tractor does same thing and it's the sylanoid on it. I just tap it but it's right there and easy to smack.

I assume it's on way out and has to cool down to work. They can test it but if ya take it off just change it.

This is good to hear, I had a feeling it was on its way out and temperature was a factor.

Start with the battery, cables, ground terminal and the terminals on the starter solenoid. Corrosion on any of these components will cause intermittent problems.
If the cables have green corrosion traveling up the wires replace them with Anchor tinned marine cables.
Voltage drop caused by excessive resistance will cause this.

have you checked the man over board kill switch? On my old Horizon 180 the safety harness would occasionally get bumped and cause interment starting. Check to see that the clip is all the way secure, ours would get bumped ever so slightly and not start.

If the kill switch is in place I would try it with the throttle moved a little forward or backward. I took my shift/throttle assembly apart to adjust the drag on the throttle. Normally you would not have to do a full disassembly to get to the adjustment screw but some clown at the factory covered the adjustment screw with fabric. When I reassembled the throttle I had the starter lockout (for when you are in gear) slightly misaligned. Hence no start. Yours may need an adjustment.
