Last night i spent A LOT OF TIME measuring and more measuring and some more measuring and 500 time checking locations for the masking and seat base locations. But i got it masked off perfectly, sprayed and nonskid applied. Tonight i will pull the mask, hand broom the excess media off and vacuum. Then apply the first of 3 top coats.

Do OEM's go smooth under pedestals like that or are you going above and beyond?

Awesome work. Stresses me out just thinking about a project like that. But also makes me wish I had the time to do stuff like that as well.

I am not 100% as all of the freaking photos online have the carpet and not go shots at the seat base. But I prefer the pedestal to have the matching 1" smooth trim like the rest of the hatches and sides. So that is what i did. In addition smooth makes for a much better contact for calking the base to the paint to prevent water entering the screw holes which will have calk also but it just makes for a cleanser nicer finish in my opinion. Secondly i am not trying to duplicate an existing boat but make the boat how i feel FW should have done it from the start. I am also using a number of modern features that simply did not appear in 1993. Upgraded to modern but keeping in the styling of the 90s but without the pastel colors and crazy upholstery patterns.

I simply have to make the time. I also love a good project and things like this. BUT i am eagerly ready to see the completion and final visualization of this project.

not a ton happened over the weekend as it was Fathers day and I went out to the farm to do some needed maintenance and cutting of 2 down trees on roads and some cleaning up that was needed on Sat AM otherwise we chilled and did family stuff. .

I did start to install some stuff with the help of my little man. He felt it was more fun to play with the steering wheel than to do actual work.

Image

Image

Drainage tiles being fitted to the engine storage area along with new battery trays. I started plumbing the tank and lines for the transom shower.

Image

Image

Heat molding the ski locker drainage tiles to match the contour of the V in the hull

Image

A new polished solid Stainless Steel thru hull arrived this am at the office to replace the old white plastic one for the cooler drain. In addition I added a 90* ball valve t the drain of the cooler so that i can control the water. Before all of my cold water would simply free flow out of the cooler and would not last. Now i can simply reach up under the dash and turn a 90 valve to drain the cooler.

He was obviously testing the new non-slip flooring. Good job!

He also tested out the ski locker capacity by crawling all around in it. He has a tome more room in that locker than i do when i am in it.

Ran a few errands for some hardware needed. Come home and have to deal with an ant invasion thru the back door and a herd of ants feasting on the dogs food in the kitchen. SO...... that ate up some time.

but i got the carpet cut, ski locker installed, and some more plumbing and electrical.

a set of bimini bar clips came to hold the rear hard stays secure to the main frame when folded up.

and the wifes requested beach cooler is now in the garage
