Horn not working. Fuse is good. Haven't got into testing for power yet. Anyone have this problem?

Everyone has this problem at one time or another. I did with our 268, so did 3 other's I boat with
with 268's. It's not the boat, it is the horn and where it is located that is the problem. There are several
posts on here detailing the issue. Try a search.

I spent hours trouble shooting, taking apart, rebuilding, testing, taking apart and then went to the store and purchased a new one. Worked great.

The best solution is a couple of airhorns mounted well above any exposure to water spray. Either electric, or with a remote compressor for real noise.

Take a piece of emory cloth/paper, fold in half, open the points, insert sandpaper, close points and sand to polish. Finish with a drop of WD40 for protection. You may have to adjust the screw but probably not.

I've taken mine apart and tried to clean it and it worked a little. I ended up replacing it and the new horn works great.

We had the same problem on our 2000 268. We bought a brand new horn, but still had a problem. Ended up that the helm switch was intermittently going bad. Replaced that switch and horn has worked fine ever since. Good luck!

Hi team, yes I'm a newbie. I have a Vista 248 and the horn is not working. However mine is blowing fuses. Would someone be able to tell me where the wires run. I know where it starts and finishes. My thought is above the lighting panel in the galley?

Did you disconnect it at the horn and see if it's still a short?
