Hi All,

I am just about to be a Four Winns owner (hopefully) for the first time and looking forward to taking part in this forum as much as possible.

I am new to this forum, so please excuse me if the has been asked somewhere else.

Does anyone know what the realistic weight of a 2006 Four Winns Vista 258 is?

The one I am about to buy is fitted with a Volvo Penta 5.0 GXI coupled to a Volvo Penta DPS-M outdrive.

The purchase info says its dry weight is 2830 kg (6239 lbs), but I have also seen them listed at 2630Kg (5800 lbs)

I am trying to work out whether or not I can legally tow it here in the UK. We have a max tow weight of 3500kg (7716 lbs) so the weight of the trailer and boat cannot exceed that. The trailer weighs in at 750kg (1653 lbs), leaving a max of 2750 (6063 lbs) for the boat.

The question is, is it possible to reduce the weight to a maximum of 2750kg (6063lbs) or preferably less, in real life?

I would take off the batteries, anchor, chain, fenders, warps, bimini and frame, cushions, loose items inside, galley stuff etc etc. empty fuel tank, water tank, holding tank. Can I achieve 6063lbs or less? Anyone ever weighed their boat on a crane?

Many thanks,

Paulo

Check out your specific config here:

I believe your boat dry is 6120lbs. I think that is without the batteries but not sure. Hopefully removing stuff will reduce weight to where you need to be. If you didn't already buy the trailer you should look into aluminum. I think my trailer is in the 1400lbs range.

+1

I built an aluminum trailer for my H240, and estimate that it is 300-400 lbs lighter than the original steel trailer.
