I just took possession of a 2001 328 Vista. I was trying to familiarize myself with the boat. I went looking for the anchor locker so went out to the bow and opened the access hatch. To my surprise there was no locker, just the windlass.

I have been told that on some boats it is behind the mirror. Is that the case for my boat? I tried to pull the mirror but it did not budge. I don't want to pull too hard and damage it.

Help!

Pretty sure the 328 setup is similar to the 298's and you have to remove the entire forward panel that the mirror is attached to. Remove the mattress and there is a screw at the bottom of the panel. Take out the screw and then slide the panel out from the bottom towards you and the whole panel will come out.

Just lift the mirror straight up and there is and access spot behind it to get into the anchor locker

There may be an anchor screw on the bottom side of mirror that you may have to remove to be able to lift the mirror up. As mentioned, the mirror should slide up the panel and come free from it. That's how it is in mine anyway...

Welcome Robfj120,

I'm sure with the info given above, you'll have no problem now getting to your anchor locker. My mirror as well simply just needs to be slide up a bit and then the mirror lifts right off allowing access to the anchor locker.

We plan to boat over to your side of Lake St. Clair to Lake St. Clair Metro Park over the Canadian May long holiday weekend. I see you boat out of Lake St. Clair, which marina did you decide to take a well at? A lot of marinas on the Michigan side of LSC to choose from.

Mike.

Thanks guys. It was exactly as you described.

We are keeping our boat at Great Lakes Yacht Club (nine mile) area.

We will be up at Metro for Memorial Day and over at Belle River for the 4th.
