:?: My 200 SS has the sunsport seating option. It has the Bolsters that can be moved to an up position.
There is a tape of Vinyl Upholstery coming loose under the Bolster Seats!

Is this a critical concern?

It is happening on both Port And Starboard Seats

Any ideas on how to repair :?: :?:

The strip of vinyl coming loose on your bolster is secured with staples. Mine came loose and tore tiny holes in the leading edge of my seats. Four Winns is aware of the problem and will replace your seats under warranty. Contact your dealership, mine knew all about the problem (once I brought my situation to their attention). They told me it was a design flaw and they had already replaced numerous seats for the same reason. Only bad thing, It took nearly six months to get the replacements as the seat manufacturer was short of supply. The new seats look identical to the originals with the exception of wraping the bolster without using the strip to secure the vinyl.

My did the exact same thing. Made a small scratch/partial cut in my seat from being moved up and down. I didn't notice it until after my warranty expired. I wonder if FW will replace mine?

Cincy Aquaholic, I would most certainly call my dealership. They know they have a problem, I believe they will take care of it.

I dont know if this problem with the bolster seat is isolated to the 2006 models only. Does anyone with a 2005 model or a 2007 have a 1/2" wide strip of vinyl about 18" long attached to the inside flat of the bolster? It makes contact with the front edge of the seat when you raise and lower it.

I will contact my dealer ASAP! I think with all the times this boat has been in the shop they would have been more proactive!!

Thanks for the input! Mine are also showing the small tears! I think I will remove the strips and save for dealer!!!!
:x

I have a 2007 with sunsport seating but can't picture the strip in my mind. Can someone snap a pic?

Four Winns is good (or it might be my dealer) about seats. I had both front buckets replaced and i'm on my 4th or 5th complete sundeck.

Txjole2, is your boat a 2006 model? The graphics suggest it may be. What problem did you have with your seats that they would need to be replaced? Also, what do you mean when you write that you are on your 4th or 5th complete sundeck? I thought the sundeck seating option refered to the rear passenger seating. I am refering the bolsters on the front seats.

bugsdoc1 My dealer, for what ever the reason, was not forthcoming with information until I described what was happining on my boat and then they asked specific questions regarding the punctures and scuffs and I must have answered correctly (I answered honestly) before they disclosed that Four Winns was replacing these seats. I got the feeling that although they acknowledged the problem, they were not issuing a "recall" on all these seats.

It is an 06. I had one of the seats broke kinda at the arm rest area. The first sundeck tore when my first hinge broke. The second one tore because it was rubbing the side. The third one had a pink spot in the middle from the factory. The lastest one is at my dealer to be put on when they do my extended platform.

I called Phil Dill Boats here today and explained the problem. They acknowleged the defect and asked for digital pics of damage and Hull Number. I will be sending some tonight and will keep all of you apprised of the situation.

I would recommend you check your seats ASAP.
