Mike, not questioning you but just curious where you get your info on the lake levels? The sports page in the KC Star always has them in the weather section on the back page. The fishing report in the KC Star's sports section also provides levels (I think every Thursday?). However, I've found that even those two items when appearing in the same section on the same day can be inconsistent.

Lately, I've been going by the actual lake pages on the Corps of Engineers' website. Usually the Corps' info is MUCH different than anything the KC Star provides. Which one do you think is most accurate? Here is the site for those interested:

Corps Lakes in MO

Judging by my home lake, I think the CoE website is pretty dead-on. If so, then TRL is only 14 feet up right now. While that doesn't seem like a lot, it is down 1.5 feet from my check in late April which is VERY good news for all who have trips planned there this summer. If the weather halfway cooperates, they could have it under 10 feet high by 4th of July easily.

For White River lakes, I use

http://www.swl-wc.usace.army.mil/WCDS/R ... /white.txt

That said, I think I made a math error in my post yesterday. Looks like TR is up 13 or so feet as of this morning. I'm not sure that's with the full effect of all the rain yesterday, however.

As to the Star, I have no idea where they get their numbers but I trust the CoE. I quit taking the Star quite a few years ago due their editorial leanings. :|

Here's an update from the guy on BABC who has a place there:

"I was on Table Rock this weekend. The water is much cleaner than it was a couple of weeks ago. It was BROWN, now it is relatively clear, with just a green tint to it. I ran from Campbell Point, to Kimberling City. There was very little debris floating in the water.

"It is still very high, at about 929.5 feet. The word from the Corps of Engineers is that they won't have it back down to "normal" level until mid-late July ("normal" is 915 feet).

"I'm just hoping it gets down to 926, or lower, soon. Until then, I can't drive in to my place. Meanwhile, I'm canoeing in and out."

"The lake that can't get a break."

For the non-locals - see that little "SGF" buried in the middle of the storms? That's Springfield, MO, the closest large city to Table Rock. The lake is due south of Springfield. Notice, no other significant rain anywhere in the region - just there. As of this morning, the lake level is still 15 feet high.

In the last few weeks there were tornadoes with fatalities between SPF and JLN (Joplin).

We were down at T.R. over Memorial and you would have never of guessed the lake was up or that gas was $3.70/gal with all the boats that were out. Seeing a lot more Lake of the Ozark people than usual. I hope they don't like T.R. and won't be back. You can always tell who they are with the scarabs, wellcraft and Baja's. Idiots doing 60mph in narrow channels with small craft pulling tubes and skiers and they think we are supposed to get out of their way.
We launched at Indian Point and rented a space there as well. Only us and about 6 other boats using the rental spaces. Indian Point managed the situation pretty well I thought. Made the boat ramp to accept 2 boats. You could only park your truck and trailer on the side of the road coming down to Indian Point not in the parking lot. I wish I had taken a couple of pictures.
We took a boat ride to Kimberling and saw a big log in the middle of the channel. That was the only debris we saw over the weekend.
We had heard also that the corp. wouldn't have the lake at normal levels until around August.
I'll have to update a picture of the boat, Mike. The yellow hull stripe was fading and peeling off in spots so I had it done in red. I had seen a new 240 or 260 at the boat show with the red stripe. I don't know but, I thought it would keep the boat kind of up to date.

Shawn, thanks for the update. I think it's amazing that there isn't more junk floating - I really don't understand how there could be so little, what with the water being up where it's never been before.

I hear ya about the LOTO people. Buncha dumbasses. They'd be funny if they weren't so dangerous.

The new stripe sounds cool - post a pic if you ever get around to it!

All you guys will be good. I am there almost every weekend, Campbell Point. Lake traffic has bee a little down this year, finally starting to pick back up. Water is about as clear as normal, little shady but still pretty good. Debris is not bad. We saw a bit south of the Shell Knob Bridge around Kings River Marina. Took White river arm down to Arkansas and was clear to there. Going other direction I have been to Kimberling City, no obvious debris there.

Ramps are a little tricky but there are a couple good ones around still.

If you guys have any questions about it let me know, will be there again this weekend.

Side note: If you have to pump out a holding tank do not go to Baxter Marina. They charged me $20.00 (thats what I get for not asking before hand). They said they had to raise their prices to cover costs. I called the next marina down (Kimberling City) they were at $5.50.

No joke, I could tell by the way they responded when I questioned it they knew they were ripping me off. I tried to argue a little but could tell I was not getting anywhere. The week before it was $10.00, still high but saved me 30 minutes of driving time right before I went home. I won't be paying 20 again.

Will be at TRL Friday night again.

I wish. No boating, just lots of rock and desert ;) . Back home now, 3,300 miles later (most of it at around $4.20 a gallon).

Well, Choices II was dead on. We were around the lower end of the lake for the one day we were on the water. We started out at State Park Marina by the dam and headed up a little past the Kimberling City Bridge. Never saw one bit of debris.

Lake was beautiful. Spent a lot of time in Big Cow (right name?) Cove. Saw some good eye candy, but didn't have a camera on me. Sorry there are no pics to share. Did see a couple of relatively new 240 Horizons in there though. One was green, the other tan/stone-colored. Those belong to anyone on this board?
