Well I finsihed up the LED's for my 6 speaker pods. I had some custom rings machined from 1/2" thick plexiglas and installed an LED strip on the inside. Each strip contains 12 individual LED's. It was a pain in the butt becasue I had to pull my speaker wires out of the arch to get the new wires in for the lights than rerun the speaker wires. Took forever and its a good thing no kids were around...I screamed a few choice words. I think they turned out great. I got the idea from a local stereo shop that sells them for about 200 a piece. I ended up around 200 for all 6. As always here's some pics...they turnde out crappy because the boat was in a storage unit and it was still light outside.

The completed ring...they were about 15 a piece to get laser cut...ended with a glass like finish on the cut edges.

Here are the cans after completion with the ring and light strip installed

Same pic as above with the LED's on and the flash on the camera

No flash

Overall view...picture sux Kinda gives an idea of how much light they emit

I think they turned out great...I know some people wont like them but whatever
I installed them on a separate accessory switch so I can turn them off if the bugs get bad or the lake cops think I'm trying to impersonate them! Let me know what you think!

Simply awesome. You should be very proud. That has to look amazing in person. I can just see how proud you'll be when you're sitting out at night when you turn them on. Nice work.

Looks incredible.

I'm totally digging all the great LED installs this season! This one and the cupholders are 2 of my favorites so far!

Very very nice! I love the LED's. I would like to do some in my boat, however, where are you guys finding these LED's? I think strip LED's would be best. Any advice?

Very nice job!
Did you put the light strips on the inside? Where are you placing all the switches? Are they hidden or just out on your dash. I was planning on just fabricating a little bracket and hiding them under my helm slightly or maybe a remote control system.

I too would like to know where you are getting your LED's. I bought some from this guy's e-bay store(based in Hong Kong) but I was not happy that he charged me shipping on three separate lots and would not combine them together (eventhough they all showed up in the same envelope!).
He does have a really good assortment though. If I have to I will buy from him again because I would be buying a larger lot through his store and that would be only one shipping charge.

Once again, That is an awesome install please keep up with the detailed pictures that help inspire all of us.

Looks like you did a good job. Everyone will know where you are on the lake at night, I mean everyone.

Awesome! Perhaps you should drop the "Signature Series" nomeclature and go with something more like "Fusion Series". That is pretty hard-core. Actually, my daughter just bought a Tiburon and the stereo is backlit with LED; cool part is that you can cycle through probably a dozen colors or just have them fade through the cycle. Wonder if we can get those to put in.
I would say that its a little beyond everyone on the lake recognizing you dude - people on final approach into Dallas Intl. are going to recognize you! 8)
Lovers or Haters means nothing if you like it - besides you gotta get respect on the custom.
You have gotta post a pic on the water at night the minute you get one!

Pretty cool. I'd love to do that to mine, but I only have the arch with no speaker cans. Trying to think of a good way to hide my mounting method if I just strung a strip of them across the arch. My first thought is zip ties, but I don't think I could hide them all that well. Don't really want to put any adhesive on my ski arch.

Any ideas?

C'mon, Paul, it's MISSOURI. Just duct tape a few Mag Lights to it.

Thanks for the compliments, I'll post up some water pics as soon as I get it out. Probably this weekend sometime

I get all my leds from http://www.superbrightleds.com. Reasonably priced and quick shipping. The cupholders are run off the factory courtesy light switch and the tower lights are on a spare switch on the dash that wasnt being used. The light strips are installed on the inside of the can, during the day you can't see any lights, just looks like an acrylic ring in between the speaker and can.

I was hoping to be done with the LED's but after seeing the swim platform with underwater lighting it looks like I'll have one more install pretty soon!

Looks good. I am planning my next led install as we speak. This one I should be able to do while the boat is in the water. Some how I a going to lite up that bow rail. I am planning on installing single leds about every 12-16". Just need to find the right leds. Will keep you all informed of course.
