Brian,
Thanks for the compliments! Blake (our son in the pic) is a character. He loves the ducks, he loves the water and loves the boat!
As for Texas Reg you had me worried, so this is all I could find on http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/publication ... 2000_0001/
All children under 13 years of age in motorboats under 26 feet in length must wear a U.S. Coast Guard approved PFD while underway. Underway means not at anchor, made fast to the shore, or aground.

If you know anything else let me know, I don't want a fine!!!!

And good luck on starting a family, it is a great time. I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Troy,

I agree - you're absolutely right. I don't argue on such issues with the Admiral, if you get my drift. I thought I'd share her reaction with you as she thinks I spend WAAAYY too much time reading this forum, and I thought your great photos would make her smile. (They did) The last few times she's looked over my shoulder she's seen the bikini babes from Tulsa... :D

I went to the Airshow on Sat with my dad. Sun, I decided to hit the river with some friends. :)

Image

Since the airshow is only a few miles away by water, we decided to stop by. Of course, we weren't alone....

But saw a great show, and got some great airplane pics from the boat...

Unfortunately, That's where the fun ended. We grabbed the wakeboard to hit the water, and as soon as I gunned it, something was amiss. Forward gear went out altogether. I ended up motoring about 3 miles in reverse (down stream luckily) to the ramp, then manhandled the boat onto the trailer. Not exactly the way I wanted to spend the afternoon, but it could have been worse. That's why I got the extended warranty!

Sorry about the troubles, Walt. Where do you launch? How much junk do you have to dodge in the river?

Launched there at Front Street, Near the Isle of Capri. That's about 7 mi from my house. No more debris than on Smithville in a given day. It was a very fast and smooth ride up 'til my troubles. You just can't go flat-out on the lake for long due to traffic/wakes, etc. I went like a banshee and the Water Patrol was there to "welcome" me to the party. Actually, they had the river closed at one spot. We were all hanging out at "the border", under the Broadway Bridge. Water Patrol was actually very friendly and up beat with the party of nearly 20 boats. FYI... Mine was the loadest, and turned the most heads! 8)

I made it out to tahoe both days last weekend, the water was awesome both days, got pulled over by the coast guard the first day, random checks. I was all in the clear so I am good for a year. Checked out the tahoe keys for a bit. WOW. There is some serious money up there. Saw this boat both in the keys and at Zephyr cove getting fuel. Didnt get any pics of my boat, but heres one bad A catamaran.
