Hey Ardy and Aussie - this whole 'winterizing' routine just sounds like too much hard work doesn't it...!!

Mine just sits in the garage from May to August (only because it is sooo cold - 50F during the day as the lowest). If I was feeling brave there is no reason I couln't get it in the water. Now September is here, temps will be getting up to mid to high 60's, so hoping to get out next weekend on Port Phillip Bay here in Melbourne.

You've just gotta feel for these poor guys in the Northern Hemisphere don't you...! About the only thing worse is shovelling snow I reckon... (I lived in Philly for a year, so pleanty of experience in in this..). Roll on the Summer!!

Our marina usually wants the boats pulled about the middle of October, so they can get the docks out of the water. That's when I will bring it to the dealer for the dirty deed... Then, its time to de-summerize the snowblower....yay!!!! (said with lots of sarcasm)

I have already pulled my boat from the creek I keep it in  I figured the weather has been so bad all summer that it wasn't going to get much better but of course it did. I scrubbed the bottom for three hours to get it gleaming again so now I will just put it back in, use it, then pull it back out so all my hard work doesn't go to waste. It is sitting in my garage right now so, I don't have to worry about winterization until mid November at the latest. In reality, I will probably winterize it the last weekend of October and then tuck it in the corner of the garage for the winter.

My dealer has a drop dead date where they will not honor freeze damage. You can bring your boat in before the date for the insuarance that he will honor any damage or choose to go in after that date. I think the date is in Oct. 15 or something like that.

Since my wife is back in school all weekend I will probably pull around the begining of October this year.

As for all of you in the no freeze zone.......Bite Me!

I am bringing our boat from our summer house in upstate New York to our prime House in North shore Boston this weekend.
I am hoping to get out on NH lakes on few weekends then end the season by middle of October.
See you on water..

One of those satellite GPS services? So you can find where the storm put it?

BoatUS has a some tips on their website for how to prepare for storms.

I am about to dewinterize my boat in the next few weeks. It is a difficult task involving
1) removing tarpaulin covering the boat
2) install battery
3) pump Tyre up ( slow leak)
4) drive 500 yards to boat ramp, launch and enjoy
These South Australian winters, where very occasionally the temp gets to freezing overnight
are really tough to take????
Any other Aussies want to share there winterizing experience with everyone??
Come on Summer

Ardy, it appears our method of winterization/de-winterization are the same. I am jealous that you have your whole summer to look forward to and mine is coming to an end.
