This may be a little early to start this thread but while the season is fresh in our minds is probably the best time to ponder any changes/improvements, maintenance or "fixes" we want to make. I started making a list on post-it notes on the corner of my desk and then thought this would be a better spot to record my list for easy referral later. It seems our boating season has all but come to an end (unfortunately :( ) my boat is in the garage and I don't foresee it going back in but for maybe an afternoon run on a nice Sunday since we have plans to travel for birthdays and the Canadian Thanksgiving coming up.
I have two lists one is for the boat and the other is for the trailer. I think I will have my boat shrink wrapped this year so I can leave it in the garage most of the time but pull it out if I want to work on a larger project in the garage. Since it will be shrink wrapped, I will probably just start assembling all the required components for the project list and will get started in the Spring with the actual installs.

The Boat list includes:
-Winterize (properly this year!!!!)
-Change radio head unit so it will accept MP3 player.
-install LED lights in courtesy lights, below gunwales and in engine compartment
-build custom thru hull exhaust
-have the gel coat repaired in several spots
-install rope light below swim platform (night swimming) and along crevice above it (for night boarding)
-rewire my fridge so when the battery switch is off it is also off
-change drink holders to stainless (mine (white) are all off colour)
-remedy my stiff throttle/shifter issue
-Oil change for motor and drive
-Pull drive and check u-joints/bellows
-re-wire my ACP (it got disconnected when I switched around my battery locations)
-replace float switch on my bilge pump
-install a second bilge pump with auto switch as backup
-add additional cleats along sides of boat for better fender placement
-Replace all the plastic hardware on the bimini top with metal type.
-Fix the door of radio enclosure (cracked)
-Fix door of glove box cooler (screws have pulled out)
-Replace the crushed clamshell vent on the nose of the boat where the bow roller has crushed it.
-New 4" numbers (I don't like the size or placement of my current 3" ones)
-Seal docking lights to hull (leftover from last years list)
-Add an additional handle to the rear for people to grab when climbing up the ladder.
-Add a 30 Amp stainless shore power plug in the location where the fuel filler was.
-Add 3 bank battery charger and wire it to the shore power plug
-insulate the rear compartment hatch that we keep drinks in so the ice will last longer
-Add some isolators below the trim pump and top up the fluid
-have carpet cleaned
-Replace the front facing on the fridge and re-install the handle
-Add gas shocks to the rear hatches (4) to protect the hinges
-Add a transom mounted trim switch
-Buy or build a table for cockpit and install a mount in the bow
-Make something to mount my propane BBQ on the swimplatform
-Add some shelves in the helm storage so we can keep dry things up higher out of the possible accumulating water.
-Remove the bags from the fender holder and silicone them shut since they won't accept my 8" ones.
-Look at maybe adding an access door in front of the head partition and behind the bow seat back
-Wash and wax boat
-clean covers and re-seal.

The Trailer list includes:
- Fix the damage to the starboard side front fender mount (damaged when I bought it)
-Change fenders to checker plate aluminum ones
-build new carpet covered fender backs
-New winch strap
-add a bow safety chain
-modify the roller setup to avoid the clamshell vents
-build some removeable side bunks.
-Replace all lights with LED style. Lights ordered 09-18-2008 New thread once they are installed.
-replace the five pin plug with a new one (wires are damaged) Completed (09-18-2008)
-add boat buckles front and rear (I am going to steal 230Mike's idea for this install)
-check brakes, change fluid and bleed
-repack bearings
-paint all my wheels or maybe replace with aluminum ones
-paint touchups
-Add a toolbox (or 2) to keep "stuff"
-buy a spare and mount it
-wash trailer and maybe even give it a coat of wax

This is what I have so far and I am sure other little things will come to mind. Now that I see this list assembled, I maybe will rethink the shrinkwrap since I will probably need all winter to complete this list. Now, I will have to prioritize the projects based on need and $ so I can start gathering the materials required. I will keep you guys posted either here or on other new threads.

Anybody else have anything planned?

Anyone ever tell you that you need a hobby?

Here's my starting list:

1. Replace side bimini connectors with quick releases (I put QRs on the back, but used the standard on the side and I've snapped and bent a couple of screws)
2. Trailer light LED's (I'm tired of changing $#!% bulbs at the most inopportune times)
3. Shampoo carpet & Scrub floor
4. Wash & Wax
5. Replace wing-nuts on battery with more secure terminals
6. Replace trailer tongue jack (taking recommendations for ones fitting a FW trailer)
7. Look for boat stuff for next year 8)

If I keep the boat:

1.) New stereo head unit
2.) New cockpit carpet

For the boat:

-Replace the bilge pump float switch with a "Johnson Ultima" solid state switch.
-(possibly) Add a second higher capacity bilge pump.
-(possibly) Add a Racor fuel/water separator (thanks Architectdave for bringing this to light in you other post)
-Add some LED lighting in the cockpit

At home:

-Change out the foyer floor
-Change out the bedroom floor
-Change out my son's bedroom floor
-Build my older son a new bedroom out of the spare room downstairs (Getting into the teenage years, so he's gotta have his space!)

Geeze, I'm tired after looking at all of this, time to crack open another Corona.....

I am surprised the fact that I am totally satisfied with my new boat….
I must say I would do nothing over this winter (other than winterize and store properly) :D

However, I would take suggestions… What do I need? I am not a stereo guy so please do not go there… Also we use camper canvas so tower will not work for us….
Anything tempting?

I don’t have much so far.

I am going to make a new cockpit table with 2 cup holders that I can use as a table and the support for the fill in cushion. I am tired of carrying both tables.

I can't think of anything else yet.

Pay off gas cards.

Sell boat. Buy new boat.

If I keep it-

Move batteries to port side.

Repack trailer bearings.

Yahoo!! I just received all the LED lighting components so I can redo the trailer. Now I will need to get the boat back in the water or up on blocks so I can get the necessary welding and grinding done without harming my gelcoat.

I need to fix a banged up step for the fender that was bashed in bad before I got the trailer and I am installing some checker plate boxes to hold my new 6" oval clear LED stop/turn/tail lights. I am changing all the lights to clear units.

Here's the damage

Here's the new light boxes

I am going to tie this project in with a couple of other trailer projects so it will be best to do it without the boat on so I don't think I will get to this until next spring but you never know!
