Okay - pulled the new boat out of the water for it's 20 hour service and a few little items, washed it down at home, and snapped some pics. This boat is one of the most wicked I have ever seen.

I'm still a bit nervous about towing it, because it's near the top end of my towing capacity. Thankfully, I don't have to tow it much at all.

Enjoy!

Gorgeous boat Todd, I like the colour scheme as well! Great looking tower, what engine do you have? Have you had it in any rough stuff yet?
cheers Robbi

Thanks guys - I boat mostly at Lake Lewisville just outside of Dallas. It's a bit big to tow all the time, so we keep it in a marina there.

I went with the 8.1 liter 375 hp Volvo - plenty of giddyup for me. The Corsa exhaust puts hair on my chest too.

Haven't been in any extreme chop, but what I have been in so far has been easy to cut right through. This boat is heavy, and the split chine design makes for a smooth ride. I'm more of a perfect-weather-boater type of guy in general.

Beautiful boat. I really like the SL models. Looking forward to see the SL282 early next year, hopefully at the Miami show. Not sure if it will be ready then.

Very, Very Nice!!!
I always liked the SL and I really like the interior and the "function" of it. The exterior is something that grows on me slowly. I wish they would chop the back of this model off and graft into onto the horizons!!!! They large integrated swim platform and seat are awesome.

Todd: What a Gorgeous boat.
I think I have a soft spot for SLs…I just saw a new 2009 SL262 at Winnisquam and they fine-tuned even more and FW started pays attention to every detail on this boat. The both seats are no longer sit on the pedestal and there are structural boxes that they will not rattle any more. Better front storage doors at bow area. FW also added a new sunpad similar to 242 for 262 but it operates by electrical. I would take SLs hands down over Cobalt.

That SL sure does grow on you... Wasn't sure at first - but they look awesome in the water. And with a big block -- I bet she scoots right along!

Nice lookin' addition!

Hey Todd,

I was dropping my boat off at Phil Dil on Satudary and saw your beautiful boat sitting next to the repair shop...looks awesome! Congratulations on that purchase.

What happened to the gel coat on the port side? Just kidding...

Todd

Thanks for the heads-up - actually, they are redoing a gel coat fix for a spider crack that didn't quite match the first time around.

Nothing like getting some servide done just in time for winterizing!

As for this boat versus Cobalt - I was actually planning on buying a Cobalt this time around, as I have always liked their classic lines. What I didn't like was the pricetag and what you actually get for the money. BTW - one of Cobalt's lead designers is the guy responsible for this new SL look. I think he did a great job.

I have to say your a lucky man to be able to afford this beast of a bowrider. I just took mine in for warrenty items and winterization and ducked into the sales floor for a min to say "hi" and was drawn to the SL 262. I couldn't help myself I had to hop aboard and take a look, what an amazing boat! Thanks for the pic's and see you on the lake next summer.
