We are in a salt water area, all the trailers here are galvanized. One thing that really helps is to spray down all the fittings, nuts and bolts with Corrosion X or similar, I have done this on my trailer (only goes in salt a few times a year because the boat is moored in salt) and there is hardly any rust at all on the fittings, and none on the ones I replaced over the past few years that were sprayed since new. I also re-grease the hubs when the boat comes out of the water, to make sure there was no salt water intrusion (easy with the Spindle lube hubs, the old grease comes out so you can see it). Hose the trailer down well when it comes out and flush the brakes too.
