Artists' rendering of the soon to arrive Vista 408. The hard top and enclosed 3 sided cockpit is becoming more and more common on express cruisers in the 38 to 52 foot range. It's just a drawing, but I like what I see so far.

I found this riveting description of the boat... from a website in Slovenija. Anyone want to run it through a translator?

Priznani ameriški proizvajalec plovil Four Winns je za modelno leto 2009 napovedal novost v dolžinskem razredu do 13 m s popolnoma novim dizajnom. Gre za model V408, ki je prava paša za oči. Čoln je po izgledu kombinacija med uspešno serijo SL z njihovim prepoznavnim trupom in hard top dizajnom najmodernejših jaht. S to lepotico (V 408) bodo pri Four Winns-u zapolnili vrzel med modeloma V378 in V458. Novost bo tudi velika steklena površina, ki se bo raztezala po celotnem trupu čolna, kar bo v salon prineslo veliko svetlobe. Pri slovenskem uvozniku As Boats se že veselijo novega “nastopača”.

I love the internet. Yes, there is a Slovene to English translator. Unfortunately it appears to be intoxicated... It seems that the V408 will have the very trendy 'whole hog trunk' a big item in the '09's . Here's what the translator spit out:

While targeted to be shown at the Ft. Lauderdale show, the word I heard in Norwalk is that it would most likely make its premier at the NYC show in January....guess they are a little behind on the design, but I do like the look of the concept.

Monterey had a 09 40 footer at the show...was ok. Cruisers had a new 420 which was (IMHO) spectacular.

That new Cruisers looks like a great boat - there's a "review" in the new issue of Boating Mag (in their typical 'most everything is great' so as not to upset advertisers fashion). I'm a big fan of the Cruisers Yachts brand. I considered them before buying this year but their 340 was dated and on the way out and their new 330 was nice but smaller than the V358 and a shining example of how Four Winns gives you so much more bang for your buck.

The V408 and the SL222 are the only new offerings for 2009 and I'm also hearing the 408 will likely bow at the NY show. I'm also told that the V458's, which they only sell to order, have slots filled for the next year. I have yet to see one on the water in the Northeast or on any of the classified sites from single season owners.

Not sure if there was a V458 at the show. It was not listed on the web site. Anybody know for sure?

Also, of Slavik friends seem to get the info on these new boats way before we do, and I live only 60 miles from the plant !

Anyway... It appears the V408 will be IPS Powered.

Went to the show on Friday. The salespeople from Riverside said that they had a V458 at their place, but it was a customer boat and the new owner wouldn't allow it to be taken to the show.
