The shipper finally made it to pick up the boat tonight. Sad to see her go - she was a great boat for the one summer we had her!

I'll tell ya, it takes quite a personality to drive across the country in 3-4 days time. the trip is 3500 miles. Wow. The driver says hopefully Monday the crew at Winnisquam will re-unite with the boat.

She's shrinkwrapped, everything stowed, and ready for a drive. tires inflated to 58psi cold, checked the bearings, and checked the torque on the lug nuts.

10pm pacific, she is now on her way. he hopes to get to South Dakota from just outside Seattle before he breaks. I've made that drive before, and it's a rough one.

Thank god for 1 million liability policies and a reputable shipping company.

Now... onto the plans for the 318.

Cougar, I think I missed a post somewhere. Not to get to much into your business, but I take it this means you sold it? I know you put a ton of work into this boat with stereo upgrades and all, but please share whatever details your comfortable with.

Yeah - I sent the boat back to Ryan @ the crew at Winnisquam Marine. I bought the 318 laterally through them (although it's shipping from the factory to me in Seattle).

Ryan, as usual, found me the boat and a deal that I just couldn't turn away.

I will say, however, my shipping experience sending it back was not as pleasant as shipping the 240 out here originally. I had the boat shrink wrapped for transport -- and the guy swore up and down it would be perfect. Well, the boat got back to ryan with some fairly significant chaffing on the classic black color banding. Fortunately, the shrink wrapper is stepping up to take care of his share.

A little stressful - but it'll all be worth it.

Somebody out there is going to get a screaming deal on a 1 year old boat with a super-sweet sound system. I'm curious to find out who it is.

THe paperwork on the 318 should be finalized and everything funded/paid for this week. The new 318 will be in Seattle before Christmas!

Wow, congrats. No more trailering in your future, but then again if I remember right you had your last boat slipped as well. I found one of your posts where you were discussing the 318. Looks like a very nice boat and a whole different experience on the water I'm sure. Don't forget about us little people on the Horizon page. :)

If we hadn't upgraded last year, I would be all over your boat! When I started looking last year we wanted a 24' but they ended being more expensive than the 26' we bought. It also fit our budget! Somebody will get a nice boat with some awesome upgrades. I'm sure it won't last long come spring.
