At Lake Norman North Carolina the season starts late March to early April for pleasant cruising, later in May for swimming. Lately I am dreaming about it. Low temperature was 15 early this morning, way too cold for a southern boy!

It was -2F this morning but I WILL have the boat in the water the first week of April; the seals await!!!

At least for the next couple of weeks there are several boat shows to remind us of the smell of Gell Coat :D

I'm heading to Atlanta on Monday, it'll be nice to have a break from living in a freezer.

I even went to Gander Mountain to see if they had the new Overton's catalog...no dice yet :(

I am always dreaming of summer and being on the lake. I look at pics and surf boat forums to keep the dream alive.

We'll be in Englewood Fl. from Feb. 15 to Mar 14. Will you be cruising any place near there?

It's hard to believe it with the crazy cold weather lately, but we can start going out a little in mid March. It still seems like it will never come.

Even though it's in the high 60s today in Dallas, it doesn't do most of us any good since we've already winterized and the weather has been going from 70 to 25 every other day for the last few weeks. This great weather is really nothing more than a tease. Psyche!

I hope to have the bottom painted and the boat in the water by mid February, it will still be cold at night but shouldn't have any major freezes.

We are on the west coast all the time. Are you towing the boat down from Ohio?

The club has a Captiva Cruise on the calendar for Mar 14. The weekend before that (Mar 6-8) is the Orange Cup Regatta, a APBA race here in Lakeland. I'll be out on the water all weekend there as a safety boat. Nothing like having race boats zipping off your bow 200 ft away at 100+ mph! You may want to head up to Lakeland that weekend.. the Regatta is a ball. I have ben manning a safety boat at that race for the bast 8 yrs.

We have a few restaurants we go to now and again in Venice, just north of Englewood. Our last cruise to Ft. Myers we launched at Laishley park Municipal Marina just south of Englewood. We can definitely plan something.
