Hello All,

If the common fix for the VDO cluster is a proper ground straight to the battery, would it matter which battery was selected if you have a dual setup? For example, if it's grounded to battery #1 and battery #2 is the active battery, does it matter?

Andy

Andy,

Both battery negative terminals are usually connected to a common ground post (on the engine), so it doesn't matter to which battery the dash ground wire is attached; the battery selector switch is connected to and switches the +ve terminals. I would be tempted to connect the ground cable to the engine ground post, rather than to any one individual battery -ve terminal.
