How have you all found this site?

I googled it up about 3-4 months ago. I wish I knew about forums years ago when I made the fateful decision to purchase a second boat without selling my old one first. I would imagine that my action would have garnered condemnation by quite a few members. I am glad that nightmare is over and now before I do anything, I consult the forum for advice.

Internet forums are like self-help groups. It cracks me up.

I wonder if some companies hate forums because of how it changes the "market" for products. Electronics, boats, cars... everything.

I know I do a fair amount of research before all significant purchases - and social forums like this has become a standard for research. It's way better than consumer reports.

Besides, where else can you go and give people crap and nobody (usually) takes it too seriously?

#559 to join on October 1, 2007 while researching the potential purchase. Three weeks later I sealed the deal on my V358. It's worth pointing out that this is one of the few "hobby/lifestyle" forums that doesn't get bogged down with attitude, egos, politics or any of the usual BS that takes away from many of the boating sites out there. We may not be the most active, but you can actually read through entire threads and see nothing but useful information and shared experiences. It's quite refreshing and I'd rather see a lower level of activity than a bunch of nonsense. So thanks to everyone for maintaining what appears to be a shared vision for what they want out of the site. And thanks to whoever maintains it. A lot of us don't know how iFourWinns.com came to be and would love to hear the story.

Except when Joe the Plumber crashed cougarcruiser's thread about Obama wanting everyone to buy a boat.

"Let Obama Hussain tell you what he wants for you. Great!....Snapout of your trance and Wise up! Give a person his pay for his work, not for somone elses. Just cuz I work hard and save my money to buy my dream boat you dont think I should save my money for gas to enjoy it? You give your money to the slackers. I have to work hard to buy my boat. YOU give your money away to me and boost my economy."

I found the site in November, I don't remember how I got to it I must have just been searching for FW info and owners comments. I feel like a real newbee with 30 something posts with all the long timers out there. I have to say I have learned a lot in a short time with all the knowledge that the members on the site have. Thanks for your help.
