SLMan -- when will the guys tear off the wrap and prep the boat? Are you on hold until April?

Cougar,
The boat made the road trip with seemingly awesome weather because the exterior was very clean. I am a bit of a drive from the dealership but was planning on at least seeing it on Thursday...although mother nature may have different ideas. I just want to go see it and touch it REAL BAD...even if I can't fire up that HO Big Block and take a ride. I'll hit the water as soon as the ice is gone...unless I can get someone fom the dealership to go out on the ocean with me!...there is no ice there in March...lol...is anyone lurking here on this forum that could make that happen???.........

Awesome - I'm sure you'll love the SL. I think it's one of the best looking bow riders out there. Plenty of room, and plenty of get-up-and-go with that package. Can't tell from the pics - what color scheme?

Come on sun!!!!

leftlane,

After careful consultation with the admiral (who happens to have quite a good graphic design background) we decided much like you. Black with the red stripe, silver interior and silver gel with the mahogany dash. I really liked the blue/brown combo as well but deferred to the higher ups...just as long as I got the most HP possible out of an 8.1L motor.

SLMan -- Where do you plan on keeping the boat? It sounds like you are not a lakes region boater?

I think it's the best looking color combo - the brown interior looks a little off to me. I think this combo in the water has the best profile around. If you're jonesing for some facetime with it, let me know and I'll email you some more pics - you can just pretend it's yours for the time being. :D

Seeing my new toy today was a bust...HUGE snowstorm and ice storm has confined me to home and work. Hopefully Saturday will be the day.

Congrats and very very nice! I wonder how it will compare with the 260 once its in the water. It looks like it should feel like a lot more boat than the 260...

SLMan --- Ryan said you made the trip up over the weekend!

Hey - what's the scoop on the motor? You got the HO? That's not even an option listed on the site, is it? It's the 420hp version of the 496, right?

Looks like that boat will break a 'lil' wind.

Yup...I made the trip. Sounds like you keep in good contact with Ryan. Hopefully he speaks about me as highly as he does you!

Good catch on the motor...it is the 425 hp version of the normal 375 hp 8.1L. Just felt I would like a little extra kick! LOL

Hope you are enjoying your cruiser...I went from a 23' boat to a 26' cruiser but now am back to the good ol open bow. Congrats on your purchase, though...looks like you and the admiral will have lots of fun!

That is a pretty boat. I'm curious of the actual room in side compared to a H260 and aSL262. The pix are hard to tell, but I think I have more cockpit room in my 260. I've been in a SL, I just don't remember.

I LOVE that motor. That boat will scream!

St. Louis Dave,
The interior of the SL262 is almost 10" wider than the H260 so it feels a bit roomier. However, the SL 262 roughly seats the same number of people that the H260 does but here is what I like about the SL 262 (keeping in mind I loved my h260 as well):
1.More stable ride (I'm in the ocean alot)
2.wider bow seating (not quite as long, but wider)
3.A child can sit with the driver or passenger due to the new super wide seats.
4.the co-captain does not have to move when someone needs to use the head because of the way the door opens.
5.No one has to get up to access the beverages in the cooler (VERY IMPORTANT)!
6.You don't have to climb over the seats to get in the boat (unless you remove those 2 cushion pieces on the H260)
7. Table mount is not in the floor and you can walk around the cockpit and even out the back with table installed.
8. HUGE swim platform that is close to the water.
9. And the new electric extendable sunpad is truly unique.

I can't wait to use it...here's to good weather this spring/summer/fall
