I also wonder how many active members we have. I know that we no longer have number 4 here. He went and bought that Carver and now he is gone

He told me his next boat will be a sailboat. Not sure when that will be, mainly
because he still has lots of projects planned for the Carver.

Well, I can see that appealing to his sense of wanting a whole new set of adventures and challenges, and the future of fuel prices, but the Carver sure is nice.

Carvers are nice. I owned a 2000 406MY for 4 1/2 years and it's bridge is very quiet and has a great view and there is a lot more room below. However, they have a ton of steps and you can't take them out as often due to it basically being a big sail and you get blown all over the place when it gets windy. Gas was a killer especially when kid #4 came around and it was over $4 a gallon. If your friend is a true power boater, he will do like me and go back to the cruiser, a Four Winns cruiser, that is.

Hey 298VISTA2000!

I gotta know about that floating patio by that Carver! We have an empty slip next to us and my three neighbors and I have been threatening to fill it in with joists and decking so we don't have to block the dock with our picnics and card parties.

Believe me, you are better off financially using pressure treated decking to fill in the slip as opposed to using the floating dock material. The floating dock was manufactured by EZ-Doc (http://www.ez-dock.com/) and when I bought the Carver, the dock came with it. I believe the guy I bought it from told me he had paid over $18,000 for it back in 2000. That price included a $1,500 ez-port for his PWC that you don't see because I sold it. I miss the dock more than the boat.
