5.No one has to get up to access the beverages in the cooler (VERY IMPORTANT)!

Funny you say that - we looked at every type of boat before we bought our SL, and the first thing my wife would ask was the location of the cooler. If it was under a seat cushion where people would have to get up every time you wanted a refill, it was crossed off the list. Didn't matter if it was the baddest boat in the world - if that $30 cooler wasn't in the right spot, it was out.

SL - I thought all 09s had the painted bottoms that matched the gelcoat above the stripe, but yours is white. I like the white bottom better - doesn't make the boat look so heavy.

I went to the Dallas boat show this weekend, and of all the great boats I saw, there are only a few I'd buy before the SL if money didn't matter - but of course it always does.

Leftlane,
The color matched hull is an option for 2009 but the regular white is standard. Your wife must be very astute because I never used to think about cooler location when buying a boat. For some reason, though, the cooler location really bugged me in the H260. usually 2-3 people would have to get up and move just so someone could get a drink...this was especially annoying when out for an extended cruise in some choppy water because you would essentially have to stop the boat so someone would not fall over if they had to stand up.
I am much happier with the new setup on the 262!

Kinda an odd question - but I'm an odd kinda guy.

Where's the stereo speakers in that thing? I know there are the 2 speakers firing back for when you are hanging on the platform or wakeboarding... but where's the rest?

Did you get the upgraded stereo package? If not - talk to Ryan about JL Audio...

And where's the arch? No love for the arch?

cougarcruiser,
Sorry...no love for the arch...boat was pricey enough as is.
I did get the first stereo upgrade that included the speakers on the transom, remote on the transom, and subwoofer under the co-captain seat. There are 2 additional speakers in the bow seating area and 2 in the cockpit near the captain and co-captain. These are all behind a blacked-out fabric so they are "hidden". I don't forsee any upgrades this year other than an ipod adapter and an on/off switch for the transom speakers, both of which are being installed at the dealership.
Again, sorry about the arch but I love the classic lines of this boat and the tow hook on the back will suffice for skiing/tubing/boarding.

Fell in love with this "spooky" SL
Major stereo upgrade!

Wonder how much the SS would bring? :?

Cougar - I have the Ultimate stereo upgrade on mine, and it included the 2 transom speakers with an on/off switch, 2 in the bow, 2 in the cockpit, 1 sub, and 2 Kicker amps (500w and 1000w). I added 2 double Polk speaker cans to the tower and a fader to run the sound just from the tower and transom speakers for when the kiddos are tubing, etc so we can still have a conversation inside the boat with the music cranked up.

SL - I added the Sony Ipod controller that plugs into the Sirius box - it gives you full control with track info at both the head unit and the transom remote. This way you can plug your Ipod in, it charges while hooked up, and you never have to touch it with wet hands again. Check this thread out and try to find it on EBay - it's a 30 second install. You should already have an auxiliary input in the cubby above where the GPS would be to plug your Ipod in, but you still have to control it thru the Ipod using that way.

Can't say I like the Halloween graphics much.

SLMan --- Ryan said you made the trip up over the weekend!

Hey - what's the scoop on the motor? You got the HO? That's not even an option listed on the site, is it? It's the 420hp version of the 496, right?

Looks like that boat will break a 'lil' wind.

Yup...I made the trip. Sounds like you keep in good contact with Ryan. Hopefully he speaks about me as highly as he does you!

Good catch on the motor...it is the 425 hp version of the normal 375 hp 8.1L. Just felt I would like a little extra kick! LOL

Hope you are enjoying your cruiser...I went from a 23' boat to a 26' cruiser but now am back to the good ol open bow. Congrats on your purchase, though...looks like you and the admiral will have lots of fun!

Cougarcruiser,
looks like its a bit chilly out west...we may match your high temp tomorrow!...too bad there is 12" of ice to melt though!

Sounds good...but I'm afraid I do not have the thru hull exhaust. For the amount of times i would/could use it I could not justify the cost.

SLman:
I have been lurking on SL ever since it came out..... The 09 model seems much refined than earlier one.
Looking at your SL might push me over the limit. I might have to talk to Ryan.....again… :D Wife is the only issue although…
