I called 1 VP dealer, and he said they just use Mobile 1. So what should I use? I just did my vehicles with Mobil1 5-30. I like Mobil1.

I guess I could Use Mobil1 30

Any reason not to?

VP oil at another dealer was $9.10/qt.

I use Mobil 1 in everything I own that has an engine. Except the boat, which gets the VP 30 wt. synthetic.

I use the VP oil as well, but buy it here online cheaper.

Yes, oil is cheaper online, but shipping is a KILLER. With Marine parts express, it would be $10.09qt.

I'm using Chevron Delo 400 straight 30 in my old '88 4.3, holds oil pressure well and no issues. OMC specified straight 30 for normal temps, now we have the new Merc stuff that is 25/40 that might even be better, but on this old engine I'll stick with what worked.
On the difference between 10W-30 and straight 30, the former will give better cold starting, but the latter will hold its viscosity when hot better, esp if we are talking dino and not full syn oils. In fact my OMC manual specifically recommends against mult vis oils in general.

I didn't see any Mobil1 30w, so I got the Mobil1 0W-30, Same? We'll see.
