Wow!

I can't believe all the space around that big block :D Servicing will be so much easier. I wish I had that kind of room around mine.

Nice looking boat but I still prefer the red one!

Cougar,

The dealer that has the 09 Venezia claims they have my 248 sold and are giving me 57k trade allowance and are selling me the Venezia for 110k (145k MSRP). They are calling back today with some more info that I requested and firm numbers on paper, I am trying to shave a little more off MSRP but at this point we are really close on the numbers. They want me to come up to do the sea trial soon.

I did not expect to put a deal together this quickly. I actually wanted to sell my John Deere first and pay off my car loan and the small loan on the tractor. But I may just have to swing the payment for a couple of months.

Hey Brett --

In your first post - you mentioned that the boat 'optioned' the way you wanted it was just under 180k? The one you are looking at is 145k?

What is this one missing for a 35k difference? holy smokes!

Everything else sounds awesome... But do the options match what you want? Or, are they things that you could add?

Cap'n,

Tell me about it! I think they just got 4' of snow last week. It won't happen this week or next, it will be weather dependant, the lake is still frozen!

Cougar,

It doesn't have the Cabrio upholsty which I can live without, it has no GPS (good thing, I will install an e80 with a 2kw Raydome) it has the standard stereo and doesn't have the 10k tropical AC (7K btu is enough for PA) it does not have platform teak (will do Plasdeck).

It has everything else I want.

Brett - have you seen the new Raymarine C series? Widescreen, built in GPS, and lots of good stuff from the E-series! That should be something to think about!

I don't know what's in the "Cabriolet package" -- but I'm not sure if that's worth so many thousands!

And the no flexteak is probably good for you -- you can customize it the way you want it!

Nice!

Cougar,

I have not checked out the C series. I will do more research once I have the boat in hand. :)

The Cabrio is the leather touch cockpit upholsrty package. It looks very classy but it looks like it would be a stain magnet. Regular old white vinyl will work just fine.

I think the 180 figure is with twins. A single 8.1 should be more than "adequate" :)

Scratch that boat off the list....

Do these people think I look like an F'ing idiot? So the loan officer calls and says that'll be a grand a month.... HUH? Oh yeah I have to finance 119K, HUH???? Oh, yeah they aren't paying off your 25K loan... So let me get this straight, I am paying off my 25K loan and giving them my boat for 25K ish...

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!

So where do you guys think I should put my 248 up for sale at? Ebay or BoatTrader?

I am done playing games with these jokers.

Sorry it didn't work out Brett - it was clearly not meant to be.

How does your boat stack up against other 248's on Boat Trader (very well, I assume)? I think it's a great place for huge exposure as we all go there to comparison shop. EBay is good - a lot of people obviously shop there but some feel it has a stigma of possibly getting ripped off. Just make your ad letter perfect - we'll be happy to proof it here. And either post great pix on Boat Trader or spend less money on an ad with 1 great pic and link to a slideshow on photobucket or a site like it. Also get it on Craig's List since it's free.

Sierra,

I just think some of these dealers think we (the consumer) are uneducated. If you tell me you are giving me 57 grand for my 248 (which by NADA, it is worth) and you tell me the deal is, I borrow 119K and give you my boat, then by my math, you are selling me said boat for: $151,000.00. LMFAO it's just hilarious even thinking about it!

I have it on CL, haven't heard squat off there. I am thinking Boat Trader is going to be more/better exposure than Ebay. My 248 has every option available in 06 and on a scale of 1-10 is a 10.

Brett-

Alot of dealers will do anything to stay alive these days. You are definitely in the right to be pissed about that one.

I think it goes back to step 1) sell the 248.

Cougar,

Step 1 no doubt!

Step 2, I am out for blood.. I am going to beat them up so bad on the next boat it's gonna hurt! I am so ticked over the whole experience right now..

That sucks man.. I don't think I'm even going to enter my 248 into the equation when negotiating. If I have to be a two boat owner for a little while then so be it. I know you have some bank tied up in yours - best 248 I've ever seen! Somebody will recognize that but I think the private sale is the way to go for both of us.
