Thanks!

Yeah I don't think we are going to get a fair shake on trade in. What really pisses in my wheaties is that I know damn well my boat is worth what I am asking. The dealer I bought my 248 from, has an 06 same boat as mine, with less options and NO trailer and they want 57K for it!

What'll really piss in your Wheaties is if they sell that one before you sell yours!

Good luck man... you have to whore the thing out in ads... spend the couple hundred bucks and get it everywhere.

Cougar,

Doesn't matter if they sell it.. If they call back tomorrow I am telling them DO NOT call me again.

You don't insult my intelligence and then get a second chance.

I will resume boat shopping once my Vista is gone, that's IT!

Hey Brett it looks good. The link to your photos isn't showing up correctly though.

Brett - what I found when I used Boat Trader was that they disabled the link when the ad was first submitted but it was left alone when I went back in to edit the ad and re-posted the link. I would also suggest you move the words "FULLY Loaded" as close to the top of the ad as possible. It's one of the things that will instantly set your boat apart for someone scanning the ads.

I can't seem to get the damn link to my photos to stay. Pretty underhanded if you ask me!

Good idea asking people to email you for the link. I don't see anything from you on the Sell/Buy section here yet - all links will remain in-tact :D

Brett,

Just went and viewed your add on Boattrader.com, I know you have the nicest 248 around. Don't take this the wrong way, but let the photos and boat do the selling, your add almost sounds like a used car salesman wrote some of it. A bit of over selling it maybe. I think leave it simple, state the facts (all of them) and post tons of photos. That's just me and my 2 cents worth.

Because you are commanding and deserve top dollar, you must be patient for that right buyer to finally see your add and then come see the boat. That person is out there, you just got to somehow get that add along with all other adds, in there face.

I went through the same thing selling my last boat, it was a 10 as well, and I didn't have to sell and could wait for that right buyer. I was asking $7k over NADA and I got it, took some time to get people to come look at it. The right buyer does come around, and once they step foot aboard, they will know, appreciate, and will pay your asking price, just takes time.

Good luck. Cant wait to see what your next boat looks like.

Powell,

Don't worry I do not offend easily :)

I know there is a lot of info there to digest but my logic is anyone looking needs to understand how the boat has been cared for. When I shop, one of the things I absolutely loathe is a lack of information and I figure a potential buyer will understand I want them to have all of the information.

Sorry Powell but I tend to agree on this point with Brett. The ad leaves no unanswered questions thereby eliminating the 'nuisance' replies. Anyone who contacts Brett from this ad is a potential serious buyer and not a tire kicker.

Brett, It looks like it's worth every penny. All you need is the right person to see your ad. I just sold my 1967 AC Cobra and it took a lot of patience, but the right guy did come along and bought it sight unseen as he was from Nova Scotia. It too was a big ticket toy and my ad was as detailed as yours. I think it really cut down on the tire kickers.

Good luck.

Not to sound like a used car salesman...

But, a couple things you might consider.

60k is a nice, round number. Potential buyers may have that locked out of their "query" if they are looking for boats up to 60k. You might suggest making the boat 59,995 or something like that. If anything, you might just get a few more page views.

Also -- looking at the "competition" posted on boats.com - you would be priced right AND be the top 248 available across the country. For 100 bucks, that's a great spot to be in. They also allow unlimited pictures, videos, etc.

Lastly -- put the classified link in your signature on ALL of the boating forums you frequent. That exposure can't hurt.

A couple things to think about.

Good luck!
