He's here! William David thought the world needed him 3 months early so he joined us on Friday, March 6th at 4:20 PM. He weighed in at 2 tsp less than 2 pounds and is about 13.5 inches long.

Thank God for good pre-natal care and a doctor with a hunch properly diagnosed my wife with preeclampsia. She was within a 48 hour window that would have taken both her and the baby without any of the tell-tale signs. We have a long road ahead of us for my little guy, but I'm confident he will grow quickly and be pushing me out of the captains chair of the 260 soon.

Just for size reference, the black thing in the pix is my cell phone. All of the stuff on his head is a C-Pap mask on to help with breathing and an eye covering due to the lights. He is the size of a Stretch Armstrong doll.

That is just astonishing. It wasn't very long ago that he wouldn't have had a chance. Most heartfelt congratulations to all of you!

Congratulations. Blessings and best wishes to you and your family.

Enjoy your tiny miracle. He will be driving the boat in no time.

Your trip across the lake may have to wait a bit.

Congratulations!

My son was 10 weeks early and weighed in at 3lbs 5 oz, he is now 6 yrs old. My wife also had preeclampsia it took the Dr's a few days to figure out what ws going on, they gave her steroid shots and held out as long as they could before taking him by c-section.

He spent 5 weeks in the NICU and it was really hard leaving him there when my wife came home.

One piece of advice, keep a log of everything that is being done to him while in the hospital, if he is/was on a ventilator write down the duration, etc, this could become important info later on. Do the same for your wife, put it all in a 3 ring binder, it will make future appts much easier. Also include any contact with insurance companies.

Congrats on the new arrival !!

My niece just had a 3 pound boy 5 weeks ago, all is well with him, and he
weighed 6 lbs. this past weekend. They grow fast. Your little guy has quite
a way to go to catch up to your size however.

Best of luck to you and your family, I hope everything goes well for you all.

Congrats, Dave! What an amazing little guy! We'll all keep you, your wife, and lil Bill in our thoughts and prayers! Before you blink, he'll be asking for the boat keys for the weekend.

Amen on the prayers and congratulations! Our daughter was early by 6 weeks and did the Neonatal routine, as well. She was a giant at 4 lbs 12 oz. but one of her "roommates" at the old Butterworth weighed in at 1 lb 8 oz! My daughter's a soph. at Michigan State now. My guess is you are at DeVos/Spectrum. They are the best in my book. Way to go!

Bob
