Why wouldn't you use 5200?? I got that from the BOC board I used when I had the Bayliner. They all were talking about not using the 4200.

If it's above the water line and there's a chance it might need to be removed at some point, then using 5200 will just make your life harder later for no reason. 4200 is more easily removable but is still as waterproof as 5200.

Switch installed & works great, now when I get to tie down area. lower the OD drain out the water, cover boat, tie down raise OD, get home just lower OD for the week!! Great little mod!! SOOOO EASY! :D Except I didn't have the 3/4 hole saw in my wood shop & Home Depot didn't have the mandrel for the rigid hole saw  Luckily my neighbor did have the 3/4.Got the permanent Reg. & got those on too (now it doesn't look like a newb W/temp reg sticker) Also had the Aux CG @ the lake today. asked If I wanted a safety insp while getting ready to go into water. Welcomed him to do a full check & got the 08 decal for it. Fri & today on two different lakes great time!! love the H190 & now have over te 10hr break in WOT fri. still getting used to teh trim level on this boat, but it's way cool!

I can't seem to find the connector for the trim pump switch on my 225. Where is it hidden? Also, the VP manual I have speaks of a trim limit control module on the DP-S drives, but I can't find that either. Does mine not have one?

Found it. Mine has the round style connectors on my VP.

Re the electronic trim limit control unit on DPS drives, it's an option. Neither my '99 225 or my '04 245 has it fitted ( I spent ages looking for it on my 225!). It uses the 3 wire trim sender, which is apparently even less reliable and long lived than the standard 2 wire one, so maybe its a blessing in disguise not to have it fitted!

I'm very seriously considering this mod for Spring. Looking up the part on several sites here's what I found: (shipping is estimated to my house in TX)
p/n: 3855650
marine parts express currently wants $86.02 + $10.00 shipping.
dougrussell.com is 84.27 + not sure on shipping
marinepowerservice.com is $80.10 + $7.90 ground shipping
e-bay is $79.48 + $11.50 UPS ground
volvopentastore.com is: $93.50 + 7.25 UPS ground
powerproductsystems.com is: $84.15 + $5.51 UPS ground

Kind of silly for what should be a $20.00 switch, like Mike mentioned. I'll still most likely go ahead with it. Should have been included with the boat in the first place IMHO!

Is that for the type of switch that Mike has? I personally like the look of the Merc switch better, its part # 87-815200A 1.

Boatfix has it for $44 plus shipping, http://www.boatfix.com/bykeywordmerc.as ... mit=Search

or here on eBay for $55 shipped

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/QUICKSIL ... iesQ5fGear

Save money, and look better!

Here's a close up of the switch on my Sea Ray

You can see it here next to my fuel fill on the lower left.

Yes, I was looking for the p/n that Mike and one other had previously posted. You know, I looked back through this post again and nobody has posted a pic of the VP one. I haven't seen it online yet either except in diagrams. The Merc is plain and simple. If the VP isn't much different, I'll prolly just go with the merc, unless I can just plug into my exsisting harness with no splicing using the VP. I wasn't thinking about this when I changed out the impeller so I need to check out my wiring before I make a final decision.

ok, here's the picture off e-bay:

I can't get you a pic of mine as she's in storage, but the Merc with the p/n I have listed is plug and play. You unplug the connector, and plug the switch in the middle.

I installed the merc one shortly after I bought the boat. Unfortunately I don't have any memory and can't tell you what the connector looked like. Don't think the Volvo and Merc one are interchangable though.
