This summer we are planning to head up to Sault Ste Marie and into Lake Superior. Does anyone have experience with the shipping channels on the St Mary's river (I understand there is a no wake zone in a portion of them) or if the alternate route around St Joseph Island and Sugar Island is recommended?

37 days to launch!!!!

Thanks

What a great trip you are planning. I've ran the length of the St. Mary's once about 10 years ago. Don't recall any no wake zones back then but things can and do change. When I could still trailer we would usually launch at the Soo for the annual North Channel trip. We normally would cruise the St. Josephs.

What's your destination on Lake Superior? Before my boating days are over I want to spent time traveling the eastern shore. Very rugged and remote.
