Good morning fellas,

I exchanged emails with them. It has 92 hours but has a 6 year warranty. Coug, figure a little over 30K cheaper then the boat you mentioned. It has a bowthruster and Nav II package. I verified it does have a genset although it's not listed on the spec sheet. It also has the folding arch even though it's an 07. There's an 08 with 32 hours in Va that I want to go check out when I get back; but he's needs to come down to reality with the price. It's listed by a broker... go figure. I really liked the black tan tri tone that they had - did you happen to see that before it sold? I'm a little leary about switching over to mercs but I guess I could get over it.

I found an 06 290 Chap on a trailer (82 hours) loaded for 78K and a 06 310 (no trailer) for 89K.

A little shopping is going to go a long way in this market.. Some people with boats fail to realize just how bad the market is, and 130K for an 06 310 is UNrealistic! (Considering they offered me a new one for 150 before negotiations).

In Northern VA, I have been on a couple of boats with the flexiteek and would never consider it because it does get really hot. Putting a towel on the floor looks messy to me and would not be an option. We have the carpet and it works just fine. Also, that surface does get slippery when wet. I think these items are great on larger boats but not the sizes we are dealing with here. Just my humble opinion.

Hi Bill,

What color caulk lines do you have? Does it actually snag bathing suits? I am amazed at the differing opinions and am trying to avoid a huge mistake. We are looking at a 2007 338 with it installed. Our dealer has never had a complaint.

Couldn't the carpet come out and go right over it if it was too hot on a given day?

The new boat only has flexiteek. We have looked at a carpet overlay as an option. I guess I will know this summer.

It could.. but know that they delete the carpet when you get cockpit flexiteak or hardwood flooring below - you have to specifically order it if that would be your intent.

We have flexteak with white caulk lines and yes it gets hot on the feet but I love the look and get comments all the time on the look with the stern rail. The carpet here in Florida gets just as hot so for me it is worth it for the look.

We've got the flexiteek with the black lines. I've been lead to believe that it gets hotter than the sort with the white lines. But I've yet to see proof. It's on my 'to do' list for the summer to use my laser temperature gauge to get a reading on just how hot the damned stuff gets.

I'm not lugging carpet back and forth to overcome design stupidity. It's easier to just waste fresh water from the transom shower. Or lay out a towel. Both are easier, and certainly cheaper, than dealing with a hunk of carpet.
