That boat has been on ebay....repeatedly and doesn't sell. It's claimed to be on a "Tri axle" trailer in the description, but pics show a tandem...

Well I was curious about that and the reserve price they have so I asked.

Response was "this is a double axle trailer and this is the one that the boat came with the boat."

I'll steer clear of the insults for sure but I'm aware of someone on this board just getting a '07 258, generator, FW trailer, all options, 80 hours like new for just under mid 50's from a dealer. I firmly believe he scored a solid deal. He didn't steal it (hey, the dealer isn't going to give it away) but he was FAR from paying to much.

I'm sure solid deals like that are few and far between but they are out there. The truth is, the market always sets the "price." BUT, not necessarily the "value." Because the value to you is much more than just a price. Its your emotions, your sweat, your willingness to take a loss or less than hoped, your willingness to just hang on to it or in this case, put a match to it etc etc. Price is simply what someone is willing to pay. Patience may allow you to find someone who's willing to pay the price that matches your value but at some point everyone needs to soul search and realize what's more important. Getting a fair price based on the market or trying to get their perceived value.

Personally, once I see a boat out there (for example I'm shopping a 2006 SR Sundancer) that is priced at say $80k and looks perfect, I will never consider paying much more than that because I feel the market has been set. So, the search goes on.

If the guy was at $49k, seems like some good sales skills (get him on it, make him fall in love with it, tell him someone is coming to look at it, print comps from boattrader etc) could be used to try and sell it for a little more.

Just my thoughts! Good luck, but please don't torch it!! ;)

Seriously man... was this comment really needed?

If your statement has no value - then don't make it.

Opinions are always welcome - but really - grow up and get a clue.

My take on this is to factor in the pricing acrossed the whole deal. We all know the market is down price wise, both new and used. The bigger the vessel and the higher the price, is probably worse that the runabout and smaller cruiser market as far as the price hit.

Any way if you sell your boat for say 5k below what it was worth a year ago, and buy a bigger higher end boat for 25-30k below what you would have a year ago, who wins?

You stepped over 5k to pickup 25-30 or more, seems like a winning deal to me IMO.

Let me put it to you like this.... I would cancel my insurance policy, dump gas on it and watch it burn to the ground
and collect nothing, before I would sell it to some shlub for 49K.

Did that get my point across?

What, the fact that you yourself are a shlub? Take the fricking money and move on to your bottom-liner and leave us low-life Four Winns owners alone. I am sick of your pompous attitude and your condemnation of people who have special needs. I happen to have a daughter who has CP (cerebral palsy) and I took offense of your opening post before the mods toned it down. More importantly, I am also appalled how the mods allow some shlub like you (who barely uses his boat) to advertise other boats on a Four Winns forum. Let me know when the fire works start.

The fireworks have started - If you can not be civil in a public forum. I will end it. Period. I have no tolerance for name calling. So this thread is now locked.
