I have owned my 318 VISTA for about a month now and love it. No problems yet!!! (knock on wood) except I can't seem to keep the door that the tv is mounted to closed while underway. Anyone else have this issue and if so what type of fix have you came up with? I thought about just adding another lock of the same type next to the existing one. This may be the easiest fix I think. Thanks.Image

Hey there!
What do you think of the 318? How do you like it? MY current slip mate has the 318 and speaks very highly of it. What a great boat and look!

Jimd. Congrats on you new boat. They are truly a sweet express cruiser.

Did you get an outstanding deal, and that is why you purchased so late in the season? I don't know how you will be able to stand the long winter with the boat in storage and not being able to use it. It would kill me.

CT has its annual boat show in sept..end of the summer and typically have great deals that are 15-20% off of list price.

I have a 298 and I just put a small hook and eye on it.

I am purchasing an 07 318 tomorrow. Anyone have any major negatives about this boat. So far all of the reviews seem pretty good.
Thanks

Congrats. But I must ask, why? It's not much of a jump from your 298 to the 318.

Did you get a chance to look at the new 338 ????

Yeah you are right, not much of a jump. One reason is the hatch. I have a lot of lower back problems and liffing the hatch everytime I want to check the oil and other fluids is a problem I love the woodwork and the sofa in the 318 also as well as sliding blinds and screens on the hatches. We saw pictures of the 338 it is very beautiful but I know it will be out of my price range. 318 is a good fit for us. One thing I like better about the 298 is the extra table in the cockpit. I will miss that. Also the 298 that we have does not have the mid-cabin table and seating setup which I like on the 318.

No problem. I see your logic. The engine hatch on the 298 is a heavy one. We almost bought a 298 last season. But looking at the 318 at the boat show, we did like the 318's layout better. Maybe in another 6 to 8 years, I will be able to afford a 318 myself.

Make sure you post a few pics when you get her.

Yeah the 318 comes standard with the electric hatch. You don't even have to take off the carpet or the table. Pretty sweet.

I will post some pics in the Spring. This one is still in the wrapper on the lot. I did get to climb up inside of it though.
